I know there must me someone on the forum with one of these guitars, surely :)

I have just got mine out of storage and have found what I guess is the charger "DA-004", the 12V adapter was dead but I have another with 500ma instead of 600ma I am using.

4 of the 10 batteries I have look ok, no bulging, the others are all knackered.

None of the 4 seem to charge, I can't remember what the charging LED on the charger is meant to signify, it is always green, without battery or with battery inserted.

Does any one know?

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for the reply, but different though.

The Dark Fire is different to the DT/FBX.

Although the Dark Fire work around also uses the same battery that the DT/FBX used, which is a battery that is getting harder to get hold of it seems.

Tronical do do a charger and batteries though, but I'm trying to keep away from the ridiculous cost, 40 quid charger, 40 quid battery and then Brexit bonanza additions. Maybe I just get a charger and see...

Or maybe I just get a cheap eBay charger and battery, 1/3 cost and hope!

They upgraded the Dark Fire to accept the Dusk Tiger removable battery.

Tronical calls it the "work around" Gen2 upgrade kit

I have one in my Dark Fire. Required moving a few wires in the control cavity

Its why they list it under Dark Fire Replacement  Parts
https://www.tronicaltune.net/category/gibson-spare-parts/gibson-dark-fire/

Its a simple plug & play upgrade

I found this battery at my local Jaycar electronics store here in Australia for $24.00.... ....it has a slightly higher mAh, but it works a treat and plugs straight into my Gibson Darkfire. Avoided the need for Tronicals workaround kit which turned out to be useless given the modifications you have to do to get the damn thing to fit

What specific guitar are you seeking the battery for?

The Dusk Tiger uses this battery

I was really just asking what the LED colour signifies on the charger that was supplied with the Dusk Tiger/FBX, I have both guitars.

Mine is just lit Green and is not charging my batteries. So either all my batteries are dead or the charger is dead, was just trying to work out which was which :)

Quotecharger's LED will shine red when charging, and green when the battery is charged. An additional battery is supplied in the Dusk Tiger accessory pack; if you need more batteries, they are available from stores such as Radio Shack (part #55029788

Thats from 2009, and the Radio Shack Battery is unavailable  in 2024

Ooh thanks, I missed that!

I do have another charger somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it so I ordered a new charger and another battery, maybe the new charger will also charge the old batteries.

Thanks for the help and I will let you know...

Bob The Dog! Long time since we talked. Good to see you!!

Hi Bill, I hope everything is good with you.

It seems like it was the charger that was at fault, a new charger has got 3 of the 4 batteries back to life. The other one started bulging so that is going off with the other bulging ones to recycling.

In case anyone else reads this and needs a charger, a cheaper option to the www.tronicaltune.net one is this: https://cpc.farnell.com/2power/udc5001a/charger-universal-camera-battery/dp/BT05431?ost=udc5001a
