Okay, I realize this is a niche subject and might be a very limited number of people looking into this, and I wasn't sure where to post the topic, but I am curious if anyone has tried using an older Roland 24 pin guitar or bass into a 24 to 13 pin converter like the Roland BC-13 or Korg Z3 and then feeding that into the new GKC-AD to see if the GM-800 could be used with a 24 pin guitar controller. Or better yet, somebody build a 24 to serial converter.

I don't see the value in making a 24 pin to GK Serial converter, the 24 pin controls can not be used, nor can the normal guitar signal be carried with the current GK Serial options available (GK-5 or GK-5B are all that there is at the moment).
My opinion is.. stick a GK-5 pickup directly on the guitar, it will save a lot of wasted expense.

Thanks. I figured as much, but I was interested in purchasing an old G33 from a collectible standpoint and was hoping it could be more than a glorified paperweight. I know that 24 to 13 pin converters were made, which would at least get me going with previous generation GR synths, as well as an old Roland GM70 can be used with it to control synths via midi, but wasn't sure if it could work with these newer serial synths.

I use 24 pin to 13 converter with GP-10 , GR33 and SY-1000.

I don't see any more issues going into a GKC-AD than
the once you might already have.
No normal PU nor switches etc , more glitches due to dc overspill
( I have not tried though , since I'm not interested in the gm 800 )

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

Cool. I still own a GR33 and still use it, pending my getting up to speed on the GM-800. What 24 pin instrument(s) do you use with your converter?
