It's available a bank of my 222 ZEN-Core tones perfectly compatible with all Roland Software  and Synths, Pianos,  Groovebox  compatible with the ZEN-Core standard, and with  GM-800
The collection includes, among the various sounds:
- 53 ZEN-Core tones containing 4-voice melodic and rhythmic sequences, with real-time transposition, synchronized with the scene BPM. thanks to the simultaneous use of 8 STEP-LFOs (2 per partial) and 128 overall steps (see video)
- 32 linear FM tones, some created with 4 operators (double carrier-modulating pair) and some composed of a pair of FM partials and partial PCM
- 30 Bass Synth tones
- "classic" sounds including pads, choirs, synth basses, sounds and sequences inspired by Jarre and Vangelis.
You can find the specifications and the list of sounds on my site page, https://www.benis.it/cm/ZC_Editor/ben67_zeneditor.htm (where is also avaible an editor for AX-Edge, JupiterX and Fantom).
Here is a video demonstrating some of the 222 sounds

Here, from the manual, the instructions for importing into GM-800

I bought these tones and they are excellent. Much better than 80% or more of the soundpacks roland / boss makes and puts out!

I understand that the GM-800 doesn't expose its internals as sysex, so you can't address anything more than BTS allows for.

Fixing this has to be the biggest request from the community, surely?

In a related point, in the Sound-on-Sound review of the GM-800 Paul White says an editor will be available 'imminently', then goes on to describe BTS for GM-800 as a 'control app' which was shared with him in beta during the review.  Obviously this could just be inconsistencies in the copy, but SOS usually have much better editorial standards than that.
Main rig: Barden Hexacaster and Brian Moore i2.13 controllers
Boss SY1000/Boss GKC-AD/Boss GM-800/Laney LFR112

Other relevant gear: Line 6 Helix LT, Roland GR-33, Axon AX100 MkII
Oberheim Matrix 6R, Supernova IIR, EMu E5000, Apple Mainstage, Apple Logic, MOTU M4

Absolutely - until it is possible to address all the parameters available through the Zencore platform in the hardware (or at least through a universal standard like sysex) then this unit feels very limited (at least for my use case). The positive is that Boss have shown a commitment to a next generation of hex devices but some of us will not make the jump to anything that requires a subscription to a platform we don't want to engage with. Am awaiting the next device with interest...

It is not possible to port my editor to the GM-800 because the editing of the Zen-core sounds takes place via MIDI Sysex and Roland, at least for now, has not included this possibility in the GM-800 firmware. The bank of 222 sounds, in addition to being used (without editing) on the GM-800, is also available for Zenology with which you can make all the changes, and then store them and load them onto the GM-800. By purchasing the bank, you get the version in .svz format that you can load on all Roland synths (including Zenology and GM-800) and in addition you have a version (.bin) that can only be used in Zenology with the reverbs already programmed.

there are many possible editors that can be created: to be able to edit ZEN-Core sounds you need to have access to the sysex of this format which is currently missing. no one excludes that Roland could include it in the future with a new firmware. In that case, I don't rule out buying the GM-800 (I would use it as a sound module) and developing the editor. for now I can only guarantee that my sound bank works with the Gm-800🤗

The GR-55 seems to expose many synth parameters, does the GM-800 not have similar to this ?
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

Nope, that level of control is in the zenology plug-in. GM-800 hardware only allows you to do some certain things.

Thank you! The ones you are referring to are the sounds obtained through the 8 STEP LFOs which allow you to create melodic and rhythmic sequences synchronized with the clock and transportable.

Yes. And this really makes a difference! I like those phrase sounds very much, they are a game changer for me. Thank you!!! I even made an excel sheet with the corresponding tone numbers in the Boss editor tone browser. Now I can find them more easily, when I am looking for a specific sound... :)
And yesterday I found those sounds mix excellent with samples in Native Instruments Kontakt. Amazing! B.t.w., the gm-800 is an incredible good guitar-to-midi system. So, pulsating phrase sounds mixed with lets say vocal phrases from Kontakt...what more can I want???

I'm glad you're using the "phrase sounds" of my bank. I'm already at work creating new sounds made with step LFOs. Using the sustain pedal it becomes possible to then "block" the sequence and proceed with improvisation. !!!

On line the "BLACK NOVEMBER" DEALS for my Roland  ZEN-Core Sound Banks (222 tones).
