Hey all

Brand new to the forum and pretty new to midi, but I'm determined to wrap my brain around the GM800. My issue rn is pretty basic, but hoping someone can help me out.

Sending PC changes to the unit from my Morningstar MC6pro does indeed change the scenes, dope.

Sending CC numbers from MC6 to try and emulate up, down, ctrl, exp on the GM800 doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a default CC value that the GM800 looks for to register the ctrl functions from an external controller? I've stopped just short of trying 0-127 individually.

That's it (for now)! Really just hoping to map an expression pedal going to the MC6 to control the master volume on the GM800 for a low stakes gig next week. Someday I'll dive into the midi implementation chart, which is complete gibberish to me right now.

I appreciate your time!

You are limited with MIDI CC# SOURCE CONTROL to be employed with a list of ASSIGN TARGETS

UP/ DOWN Ctl1 are not available

See Target list here

Copy! Thanks for the quick response.

I guess I may be in need of a more basic first use example 🤦🏾♂️ how would you recommend I go about mapping a MIDI cc message out from the MC6 to, say, activate the tuner function of the GM800?

My current best guess would be to assign CTL 3 to tuner, toggle, system in the GM800. And then program the MC6 to send a corresponding midi message.

Out the box the GM has CTL 3 set to CC# 5 (according to MIDI setting 3 in the BOSS tone studio). No mention of a cc value, and sending 0, 1, 2, 125, 126, 127 don't seem to get a response.

Thanks again for the hand holding here. It's a very promising, VERY intimidating little blue box!
