Tracking when Bending notes Guitar to Midi is not smooth. WHY?

Is there a setting that allows the vg-99 to bend up a midi note on an external synth..
for example a flute patch in a DAW (Ableton live) smoothly?  Like a wind synth or a keyboard pitch bend does. 
I can use the tremolo arm to get the effect sort of..but I can't bend strings to a higher pitch and sound natural.

Sure, be sure the external synth pitch bend supports the VG-99 Guitar to MIDI Pitch bend (+/- 12)
