Hi all

Any GT 1000 Core owners here know if there is only one pitch tracking engine or if the pitch tracking is within each fx block?

For example, could i run 3 separate guitars into it and route each guitar to it's own path (Inputs 1 and 2, and Fx Return input) and then give each path it's own Harmonist (each with it's own user scale) or Ring Mod (intelligent mode), or would these fx be limited to a single pitch tracking engine?

GT-1000core has fewer effect possibilities vs GT-1000

Thanks yeah. I was asking more about the pitch tracking engine itself which the manuals don't cover..ie if there is more than one engine. I'll email Boss/Roland.

Most folks with ears use a Digitech "The Drop" pedal- which remains the best in class device for drop tuning  across all strings down 1/2 step without warbles, or a Divided pickup ( VG-99, SY-1000)

Just google GT-1000core Drop tuning or Harmonizer for examples you seek

And Search on " Pitch "
In the GT-1000Core Parameter Guide

I'm talking specifically about how many pitch followers the GT 1000 Core has..ie if you can run two or more separate guitars in parallel each with their own Harmonist block. I suspect it only has one pitch follower that allows one guitar to have 3 parallel Harmonists

Not looking for drop tuning pedals/blocks..i already use the VG-99 and Fractal for that stuff.

I just plugged two guitars and a bass in.  I've got them on the input, return 1 and return 2 and harmonists set in FX1, FX2 and FX3.

The good news is each FX does track individually, you can set the harmony in each of them, but when you change the key on one, it changes the key on all of them.

I'll do a little experimenting to see what happens with a custom scale...

Yes, if you use User Scale, you can set each to it's own set of harmonies.

Intelligent Ring Mod, that's a lot of noise.

Thanks a lot for trying this..much appreciated. Interesting that it tracks for the Harmonists but not for the Intelligent Ring Mod. So not even one of the Ring Mods tracks. Is that the case when the Ring Mods are tuned to unison and you play single notes on each instrument simultaneously?

I'm sorry, the ring mods tracked just fine, I just meant ring mods are a cacophony.

As all good Ring Modulation should be -thats the nature of that effect

Yep..but in Intelligent mode, you can tune the Ring Mod to get unison sounds or octaves that are not cacophonous.
