Tone studio for gm800

Is anyone else having a problem getting tone studio for gm800 to connect to tone central?
When I try to connect, it tells me to check my network connection but if I use any of the other tone studio products for example for the gx100 I have no problem going to town Central. Only with the gm800 tone studio. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this yet

I noticed the same thing, first I thought it was my work firewall blocking, so tried at home on another computer, same thing, "no network connection" is reported.

Can it be that you need an actual GM-800 connected or you can't connect to Tone central.

Oh ok, but yeah i have same issue where it won't connect either but yes I think we need a gm-800 for it to work.

I got a response from Roland about that and they were suggesting that maybe it was some kind of third party software or something that was causing a problem but that is definitely not it. I have three other tone studio setups for the katana, rc5, and the gx100. They all have no problem connecting to Town Central. I think there is a bug in this particular Tone studio for gm800. You can still go to Boss tone exchange and download the available gm800 sets that are on there and then just import them into tone studio... Which I did today. But, having uninstalled the driver and Tone studio and then reinstalling, I can tell you it's still has the same problem. This is definitely an issue at Roland.

No, because I have tone studios for the gx100, rc5, and katana. If you don't look those up to tone studio when you start it it tells you that the library etc will still be available and you can click on tone and Central and it takes you right there. This is a glitch in this particular version of tone studio. Plus I have tried it with the gym 800 connected and it doesn't work then either. It works fine as its own studio for editing the gm800 but it will not allow you to connect to tone central.

Have you updated to GM-800 SYSTEM PROGRAM ( VER.1.03 )?

That's right. I have it working after 1.03 which is required. And it only can be done with a USB flash drive formatted on the unit itself (apparently on the uni that is, at least they say that)

To think Roland support didn't tell them this LOL.

Updated to ver 1.03 before installing anything. That's not the problem.... Tone studio connects with gm800 perfectly and you have all the editing, lubrarian,etc. functioning.
BUT....When you click on Tone Central, you get the no network connection issue.
Since a number of you are having the same issue on different systems, it has to be a software glitch at Rolands end.

reached out to Roland again to let them know that multiple people were having that issue and they just responded. I knew it had to be a software glitch on their end.

"Thanks for reaching out and contacting Roland BOSS USA Operational Product Support about the GM-800 / BTS for GM-800.
After further investigating, we're actually having the same issue with our WINDOWS 11 computer.
We've sent a notification out to our BOSS engineering team about the issue.
Hopefully, they can issue an update for the BTS for GM-800 software editor that will remedy the issue.
Sorry for any inconvenience on the matter, and thanks for reporting this inconvenience to support."
