Hi all: I was wondering if i would be able to record the onboard sounds of the gr55 into cakewalk by using the line out of my roland jc-40 to the line input of my Scarlett interface and if so still be able to tweek the recorded sound with cakewalk effects? thanks

Why not just connect it straight into the focusrite?  That's what I do.   I have an 18i20, and I have everything connected.  All I have to do is turn it on, and change the input source in the DAW

I also do the same with my 18i20, using Cakewalk, Samplitude and Reaper with everything connected.  All I have to do is turn it on, and change the input source in the DAW's

Unless you need the JC40 in the mix, you can also use the GR55 as your audio interface. Just connect directly to your computer via USB cable. All sounds go into computer, all sounds from computer return to GR55 and out thru the GR55 L/R outputs and headphone outputs. You will need to download the drivers from the Roland website for the GR55. OR, as previously stated, just run your GR55 outputs to the audio interface inputs. As to the cakewalk effects, anything you add to the track effects, will affect anything on that track regardless of where the signal comes from (if it's routed correctly). Another advantage if you use the GR55 as an interface via USB is, you can also use your guitar as a midi controller and use your guitar to play plugins like soft synths, virtual instruments, anything a midi keyboard would. Got a piano plugin but really can't play piano very well.......... play it with your guitar.
