Hi guys
I have an issue I hope that someone can help me with, as I have tried so many ideas without resolving my issue.
I run Ableton Live and Main Stage on the same laptop.
I use Ableton Live 11 as my master clock. I send my midi clock to SY 1000 and to Mainstage. It works when I send direct to both of them, but I would very much like to have a midi chain: Ableton to SY 1000 to Main Stage. That would enable me to use the midi from SY 1000 to play synth in Main Stage.
But the midi clock goes completely mad when I make this chain. Any ideas how to find a solution for this? I will appreciate very much to solve this issue.
Thanks

Are you using USB to connect to SY1K?

Thanks

No, I use midi. Do you think that it will make a difference using USB?

If you use usb midi instead of 5pin midi , you should be able to have SY "last" in the chain, Ableton midiclock direct to both mainstage + SY and still play synths via usb midi in mainstage. And you have the possibility to use usb audio as well.

Make sure that USB midi (or 5pin midi)  through isn't on.

Hi Brak(E)man
Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate. I haven't worked with SY and USB. But it definitely sounds like a way around.
When I plug USB in SY some additional noise appears. Are there audio too through the USB?
Regarding midi through I have the AdrenaLinn pedal in the SY in out loop, and it gets midi from SY. So I still need the midi clock for that.
When I try to send midi clock through USB from Ableton nothing happens. Weird. Do I need to turn something on? I'll read manual for USB and hopefully learn something, but if you have a quick good advice for sending midi clock from Ableton to SY please let me know.
Thanks for your help

Yes there's USB audio if you have the driver installed, the same with usb midi.
See. https://www.boss.info/global/support/by_product/sy-1000/updates_drivers/
And yes you need to turn on usb midi clock see attached
You should not have an issue unless there's a midiclock sent back from SY-1000 into ableton , (if so then it might go haywire.)

I'd use USB midi clock for ableton to SY then 5 pin midi into adrenalinn.
(And use USB audio.)
You might get a midiclock loop back to Ableton , make sure that ableton is set not to receive midiclock.

The Sy-1000 has two virtual MIDI outputs via USB. When both are active as inputs in the host program, the midi clock doubles up and goes crazy. I had this problem with gig performer.
In the sy-1000 settings, turn on midi clock out. The synchronization source is not external, but midi clock. Leave only one of the SY-1000's two MIDI inputs active in the Ableton.

Thanks.
Got the USB clock. Perfect.
But when I connect the USB I get a lot of noise. I try all settings in the USB audio, but still noise. Where does that come from? Any ideas how to remove that noise?
Thanks for your help
