How to use the Looper of GT-1000
Since the specification of the looper of the GT - 1000 has a different point from the instruction manual
, first confirm the "About specification change of the looper" which is enclosed.

What is Looper
Effector that can record multiple short phrases.

The number of seconds and capacity that can be recorded depends on the model.
There are various ways to use it for practicing a little ad lib, some gurus who make love using a looper.

Although it is an effector that does not know how to use it, it has
various possibilities in first visit.

How can I easily test the looper of the GT - 1000?

Preset patches P 50 - 1 to 5, user patches U 50 - 1 to 5, the looper can be used by default, CTO 1, CTL 2, and CTL 3 are stepped on to operate the looper.

QuoteStep switch   Details
CTL 1   Looper recording, overdub
CTL 2   Repeat and stop the looper
CTL 3   Elimination of looper

Those that recorded with looper are able to continue to play even if you change patches, those that
overdub to the looper after switching the patch are overdubbed with "sound when you play".
Even if you cross the bank, the recorded sound will be retained unless you delete the looper.

QuotePatch number   Details
50-1 LOOPER CLEAN   Clean tone
50-2 LOOPER CRUNCH   Crunch tone for backing
50-3 LOOPER DRIVE   Large distorting tone for backing
50-4 LOOPER SOLO   For guitar solos
50-5 LOOPER-10CT   Tone when placing the bass sound in the looper

Make looper available for other patches

In order to be able to use looper with other patches, it is necessary to
first set "assign looper function to foot switch" setting.

Press "MENU".

Press "CONTROL ASSIGN".

Press "CONTROL FUNCTION".

The screen which can list the function assigned to each footswitch opens.

Select the foot switch to switch with No. 1 knob.
"FUNCTION parameter" indicates the function assigned to each foot switch.

For example, since the function of BANK DOWN is assigned to FUNCTION of
BANK ▼, if you step on "BANK ▼", the function to lower the bank is executed.

If "BANK ▼ FUNCTION" is set to "LOOPER", the function of the looper will be executed. (Select with the 1st knob and specify the contents of the FUNCTION with the 2nd knob.) Since
this will make BANK DOWN unusable, assign the looper to another place.
Function assignment is possible for any switch.

Open "CONTROL FUNCTION" and
press "PAGE" to open the second page.

When "CUR NUM FUNCTION" is set to "LOOPER", you
can set the number of the patch you are currently using (the footswitch blinking green) to have the function of LOOPER.

In this case the looper works as follows.

· When stepping on "3 foot switch", looper recording starts.
· Once you have "3 Foot Switch" recorded after the looper has been recorded, you can overlay with Overdub => Playback => Overdub ....
· Stop the looper by pressing
"3 foot switch" twice quickly · If you continue stepping on "3 Foot Switch" for more than 2 seconds, erase looper

After
setting "CUR NUM FUNCTION" to "LOOPER", if you change the patch without saving the patch, the setting will be restored.

In this case, you can not operate the looper unless "CUR NUM FUNCTION" is set to "LOOPER" again.

Make Looper available to any patch

After setting "CUR NUM FUNCTION" to "LOOPER", set
"CUR NUM PREFERENCE" to "SYSTEMS".

You can make looper available for any patch as long as the looper's effect block is turned on.

As a disadvantage of this setting, when playing, "If you try to switch patches, you mistook the footstep and you stepped on the foot switch of the patch you are using," the
looper will start up.

Even assuming it is surprising that you should be surprised
when the looper starts up, so when you use the looper you think that it is safe to assign a looper to CTL 1 - 3 or another switch like preset patches P 50 - 1 to 5 .

How to edit and save patch sound of GT-1000

Patch means "sound combining effect combinations and settings".

There are 2 kinds of patches, "User patch" and "Preset patch".

Use user patches to make sounds yourself.
Preset patches are prepared in advance. Preset patches can not be overwritten.

When creating sounds based on preset patches, copy the preset patch contents to the user patch
before editing the destination patch.

"User patch is U in upper left" and "Preset patch is P in upper left" are displayed.

I will switch BANK and select patches.
There are five patches in one BANK.

Editing patches
Consider the case of PREMIUM DRIVE of BANK 01 - 1 as an example.

Press the "EFFECT button" to display the edit screen called the effect chain.

The effectors you add are divided into units called "blocks", select the block as you turn the sixth knob, and press the sixth knob to turn the block on or off.

Blocks that are turned on become brighter.

I will decide the contents of the effecter with the 1 - 5 knobs.

To change the drive value, turn the 6 th knob to AIRD preamplifier block 1 which is the amp's icon and select it.(Press down on knob)

Change the parameter with 1 - 5 knobs.

QuoteTYPE: Set the sound character of the amplifier
GAIN: Sets how much to drive
SAG: Set the compression condition affected by the power amplifier. Adjusts the stickiness of the sound
RESONANCE: Adjusts the dynamics change amount due to the interaction between the power amplifier and the speaker / transformer. Unlike RESONANCE which adjusts the low range in the EQ of the guitar amp, it will become a boomy sound as you give it up.
LEVEL: Set preamplifier volume level
BASS: Adjust bass range
MIDDLE: Adjust middle range
TREBLE: Adjust the treble range
PRESENCE: Adjust the super high range
GAIN SW: Switch that determines the distortion amount of the amplifier.
SOLO SW: Solo switch
SOLO LEVEL: Set the level when the solo switch is turned on
STOMPBOX: Select stomp box.

For effect blocks that contain too many items and can not be displayed, press the "PAGE" button to display them.

There are 16 kinds of TYPE (TRANSPARENT, NATURAL, BOUTIQUE, SUPREME, MAXIMUM, JUGGERNAUT, X-CRUNCH, X-HI GAIN, X-MODDED, JC- 120, TWIN COMBO, DELUXE COMBO, TWEED COMBO, DIAMOND AMP, BRIT STACK, RECTI STACK) is available. In order to master the GT - 1000, what type of sounds will be produced for each amplifier type? I will remember.

STOMPBOX (stomp box) is to store each effect setting preservation favorite setting.
Stompboxes can read and save common save data in any patch.

Why are the preamp sections divided into two?

Since the preamplifier section is divided into two, even with the same patch, it is possible to use the tone color by stepping on the foot switch.

As you move the button of PAGE, you can check the function assigned to the switch.
In this screen, the function of the channel selector is set to CTL1.

By dividing the preamp section into two, you can use it by stepping on CTL 1 and raising the GAIN value when it is a guitar solo.

How to store patches
If you do not save the patch, edits will be lost when you turn off the power or change patches.
When the patch is completed, press the "WRITE" button.

QuoteWRITE: Overwrite and save
EXCHANGE: "Exchange" the specified location and patch
INITIALIZE: Make the patch the minimum setting that is not set (Reverb, Looper, Volume Pedal, Preamp, Noise Suppressor is set)
INSERT: Newly inserted and saved

When you press WRITE, decide "patch name" and "save destination".

Quote1st knob: set storage destination
3rd knob: select category of letters. Delete 1 character when pressed
4th knob: toggle between upper case and lower case letters. Press one character insert
5th knob: Select a character.
6th knob: move the cursor

If you press WRITE again, it will be overwritten and saved.

The GT - 1000 has a function that can be "initialized" to the factory default state of FACTORY RESET.
Let's master how to use by touching the gun gun knob while you start using it.

How to make the sound of the GT-1000 by connecting to a guitar amp

First decide GT-1000 "Where to connect and sound out".

For guitar amplifiers such as JC 120 and Marshall JCM 2000 in the rehearsal studio

Quote· How to insert a sound into the input on the front
· Connect to the Return terminal on the back, sounds without using the power amplifier section

There are two ways to do it.

Difference between preamplifier and power amplifier

It consists of "preamp section", "power amplifier section" and "speaker" as a mechanism of the guitar amplifier.

The sound picked up by the pickup of the guitar goes into the preamp section to make the tone of the guitar, the sound is amplified so that the
speaker sounds in the power amplifier section, and the sound comes out from the speaker.

QuoteWhen inserting into the input on the front and producing sound, the sound signal passes through the preamplifier part.

When going through the preamp section, you can use the knob of the equalizer on the front.

For Input,

QuoteWhen connecting to the return terminal on the back, a signal goes directly to the power amplifier without passing through the preamplifier part.

The advantage of connecting to the Return terminal is that the sound of the multi-effecter is connected to the power amplifier without passing through the preamplifier, so the change of the sound by the preamplifier is less.
As it goes through the preamp section, it will be influenced by not a few notes, so there will be no sound different from the sound I expected, such as "It was not this sound when made at home."

Since the GT-1000 has a function to set whether to insert into the input or to insert it into the input,
first decide whether to insert into the front input or the return terminal on the back in the setting item I will.

Connect the guitar Cable

After connecting the guitar and Cable, insert the Cable into the INPUT on the back of the GT - 1000.
Another Cable connection is made to "Main /" L / MONO) ".

When using the preamp section, insert the shielded 1/4" cable into the INPUT on the front of the guitar amplifier.

When not using the preamp section, connect it to the Return terminal on the back.
Depending on the model, the notation is different, but there is a RETURN terminal in the place written like EFFECTLOOP, FXLOOP.

In the case of JC - 120, "RETURN L (MONO) of CH - 2 EFFECT LOOP" corresponds to EFFECTS LOOP RETURN in the case of Marshall JCM 2000.

After wiring, turn on the power of the GT - 1000 and turn on the amplifier.
If you raise the volume of the amplifier and give "OUTPUT LEVEL" of GT - 1000, you will hear the sound.

Set the connected amplifier type

Since there is an item to set the "where to connect and sound" GT - 1000, first set this item.

"MENU -> IN / OUT SETTING -> MAIN OUT -> OUTPUT SELECT"

Press the MENU button.

The GT - 1000 's knob will keep you in mind as it has push and turn actions.

· Press: Decide
· Turn: Select

The knobs under the displayed items correspond to the corresponding knobs.

Press the 2nd dial of "IN / OUT SETTING".

Press the 2nd dial of "MAIN OUT".

Press the 1st knob of "OUTPUT SELECT".

Turn the 1 knob to select the item.

The initial state is "LINE / PHONES".
In the item of OUTPUT SELECT, the name of the connection destination is written.

It is easy to understand because it is "amplifier name + INPUT" when inserting into the INPUT on the front of the guitar amplifier, "amplifier name + RETURN " in the case of the RETURN terminal.
Choose what is appropriate for your environment.

It seems to be commonly used "LINE / PHONES" "RECORDING" "JC - 120 INPUT" "JC - 120 RETURN" "TUBE STACK 412 INPUT" "TUBE STACK 412 RETURN".

It is safe to connect to the RETURN terminal when you want to reproduce the characteristic sound of GT - 1000 as it is.
Let's try variously since it finally responds to individual's preference as to where to connect and sound.

QuoteConnection method   Details
LINE / PHONES   When connecting headphones · GT 1000 to keyboard amp, mixer. Speaker type fixed
RECORDING   When connecting headphones · GT 1000 to keyboard amp, mixer. Speaker type can be selected
JC-120 INPUT   When inserting into INPUT of JC-120
JC-120 RETURN   When inserting into RETURN of JC-120
TUBE STACK 412 INPUT    When inserting into the INPUT of stack amp equipped with 4 12-inch speakers
TUBE STACK 412 RETURN   When inserting into the RETURN of stack amp equipped with 4 12-inch speakers

** The stack amp is a model where the head part of the guitar amp and the cabinet are separated. JCM 2000 in the reheater is a stack amp equipped with four 12-inch speakers. The antonym is a combo amp, and the combo amp says what the head part and the cabinet are integrated.

The technology "AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics)" adopted in the GT - 1000 models the speaker to be played.
Which speaker type will you choose with the type of speaker you can choose with this AIRD? It shows that.

How to choose patch sound
Patch means "sound combining effect combinations and settings".

There are 2 kinds of patches, "User patch" and "Preset patch".

In order to make sounds yourself, you will need to save using user patches.
Preset patches are prepared in advance. Preset patches can not be overwritten.

When creating sounds based on preset patches, copy the preset patch contents to the user patch
before editing the destination patch.

"User patch is U in upper left" and "Preset patch is P in upper left" are displayed.

The patch is stored in 1 to 5 of the foot switch.
If you step from 1 to 5 you will see that the sound switches.

In the GT - 1000, there is a hierarchy called BANk (bank), and
five banks of patches are stored in one bank.

To switch banks, press the "BANK ▲" "BANK ▼" switch to switch.

■ Structure of BANK

There are 50 banks of presets in the initial state, and 5 patches of sound are prepared for each.
Even just trying everything is a tough one, so let's make a note of the sound you like.

How to listen to sound with headphones
When listening to the sound of the GT - 1000 with headphones, plug headphones into PHONE on the back.
Since Mainout is also output at the same time, even if you connect the shield from Mainout to the amplifier, you can hear the sound from PHONE.

【How to use BOSS GT - 1000】 How to set various functions for each foot switch

How to set functions on each foot switch of GT-1000
Assignment of free switch function of GT-1000

In the initial state of the preset patch, it is set that CTL 1, CTL 2 can turn on and off the effect for each tone.
With the GT - 1000 you can swap the functions of 10 footswitches for your convenience.

For example, when stepping on CTL 1, you can make "sound with volume and gain raised by guitar solo plus further delay added", or
when stepping on CTL 2, "I want to make SE sound like to use for a moment between songs" etc. Can be specified finely.

Since you can choose the toggle (TOGGLE) and momentary (MOMENT) for the foot switch mode,
you can set it according to your play.

QuoteToggle (TOGGLE): Toggle on / off when stepping on foot switch
Momentary (MOMENT): ON only while stepping on the foot switch

You can also assign expression pedals and foot switches connected to the CTL 4, 5 / EXP 2 terminals and CTL 6, 7 / EXP 3 terminals of the rear panel by preparing an external expression pedal or foot switch separately.

Setting the function of the foot switch
We will edit PREMIUM DRIVE of preset patch 01 - 1 as an example.

When you press the "PAGE button", the function assigned to each foot switch of the patch you are using is displayed.

When CTL 1 is pressed, the channel selector of the preamplifier section switches
. Pressing CTL 2 turns on MST DLY (master delay).

With pressing the EFFECT button and displaying the edit screen,
you can check that the flow of the preamplifier section changes by pressing CTL 1.

To specify the contents of the switch when pressing the "PAGE button" to
display the function list of the foot switch, specify "MENU => CONTROL ASSING => CONTROL FUNCTION" .

If you set the FUNCTION of CTL 1 to CHO, you can switch "ON / OFF of chorus effect".

The function list of the foot switch also changes to CHO.
Assignment of this place designates the function of the large frame "Increase the volume of the patch, ON / OFF of effecter and looper, etc.".

If you want to manipulate parameters of fine effectors simultaneously, such as setting the distortion value from 20 to 50,
set "Assign" from the effect edit screen.

Assign
Assign is a function that you can specify "what to do?" When foot switch is turned on.

Up to 16 "assignments" can be specified, and 16 ON / OFF are specified for each.

The function to assign one by one, you can turn on / off the functions at the same time when you press the foot switch at once.
The effect is "superimposed".

Ultimately, the effect set to "FUNCTION of CTL 1 + Assign 1 to 16 with switch (SW) turned on" becomes valid at the same time.

Because it is confusing, I will explain it using the pattern of "Example A".
"When chorus + delay turns on, and preamplifier gain changes to 20 -> 50" when CTL 1 is stepped on.

Quote■ Example A
[1] Set FUNCTION of CTL 1 to CHO
[2] Set delay by ON (Assign SW is ON)
[3] Set the gain of the preamplifier to 20 -> 50 (Assign SW is ON) with Assign 2
[4] Reverb is ON (Assign SW is OFF) with Assign 3
In this example, [1] + [2] + [3] is valid when stepping on the foot switch of CTL 1.

How to assign effects
We will set it so that the effect can be executed when CTL 1 of Example A is stepped on.

Opens the effect edit screen.
Use the 6th knob to select the effect block you'd like to assign.
To turn on the delay, select "MST DLY" and press and hold one of the first to fifth knobs.

The ASSIGN SETTING screen opens.
"At this time, the function that can be changed with the long pressed knob is selected for TARGET".

Since I'd like to turn on MST DLY this time

Quote· Press 1 knob to turn on SW
· 2nd knob to select TARGET: MST DELAY ON / OFF.
· Confirm that SOURCE is CTL 1.

"ASSIGN: 1" is displayed on CTL 1 when the function list of the foot switch is displayed.
Assignment is complete. We will assign other functions.

Return to the Effect Edit screen,
select the preamp with No. 6 knob,
and press and hold the 2nd knob to open ASSIGN SETTING.

I'd like to set the preamp gain to 20 -> 50

Quote· Press 1 knob to turn on SW
· MIN to 20 with 3 knob
· MAX to 50 with 4 knob ·

Assignment is now complete.
"ASSIGN: 1, 2" is displayed on CTL 1.

Items that can be assigned are described in the
CONTROL ASSIGN> CONTROL FUNCTION chapter of GT-1000_parameter_jpn02_W.pdf in the instruction manual .

Assignment is complicated, but as you get used to it
you can switch very detailed parameters with foot switch so you can realize a precise sound makeup that can change in real time.

The reservation for the first time was so popular that I could buy it for about 1 month's delay.

First of all, touch it roughly and try to summarize the feeling of GT-1000.

BOSS GT-1000
Speaking of BOSS's GT series, it is a multi-effecter that has been loved extensively from guitar kids who just started guitar to professional guitarists, BOSS GT-1000 will be the first update in 6 years from GT-100 released in 2012.

From GT-5 to GT-100 it did not look much different, but it changed to look like Line 6 Helix over GT - 1000.

Especially the foot switch is no longer the conventional BOSS plastic pedal type, this is easy to step here.

View from the front top.

Compared with GT - 100, the size is so small.

Where the BOSS GT-1000 was good
The good points of the GT - 1000 that I noticed by touching roughly one day are as follows. I also used GT - 10 and GT - 100, so I will cite it as a good point compared with past products.

QuoteThe number of 1 bank preset has increased from 4 to 5
The number of control buttons increased from two to three
The send return increased from 1 line to 2 lines
FX increased from 2 to 3
Delay has increased from two to five
Weight was reduced by about 1.2 kg
I feel the sound has become clearer (the impression that the resolution got higher)
Delay set to "Master delay" does not run out of sound even when switching presets

When listing like this, it is increasing like the level up of Dragon Quest.
As I wrote the following article at the time the GT - 1000 was announced, I was as expected as to the points that seemed good in this article. Other than that there were some things I thought it was good.

Especially I was pleased that the delay set for "Master Delay" does not run out of sound even when switching presets . There are also a lot of people waiting for this function.

Strictly speaking, the delay sound will continue even if you change the preset when using "Master Delay, you are turning Carry Over on the master (the item called MST at the end of the effector)."

On the contrary, in the case of myself, it is also used as "to break out including delay sound at the moment the preset is switched", in that case it can be realized by turning off carry over. It is good to be able to do this properly.

It is appreciated that there are two send return. I have more favorable distortion effectors than BOSS distortion, so I will put 2 distortions in these two lines.

Where I wanted BOSS GT-1000 somehow
On the contrary, the point that it is called "demerit" or "Is not this manageable" is here.

QuoteThe top of the switch and the knob's location are too close so it's likely to step over the knob
Because the lower row has become all preset switching buttons, it is difficult to do things like "ON / OFF ONLY DELAY while chorusing"
Although the hierarchical structure of the system became easier to understand than before, it is hard to understand how to set the details

Perhaps it seems that most people do not mind, but personally, ease of stepping on the switch is important, smoothly switching banks during live with the feeling that I do not like stepping on knobs with shoes I wonder if I can do it.

The switch itself is easy to step on and the width of the sideways is fine, though. I use only the 3 neurons on the left side of the upper row that I'm about to step on.

Also, because the control buttons are on the upper stage, I wonder if I can do the on / off of frequent delays while playing. If it is a button in front, it seems to get stuck on, but there seems to be an accident that the intention to step on the control button on the back side will be preset change.

It is possible to assign effect on / off to the lower preset change button, but doing it will make the preset access to number 5 troublesome ....

Since you can not assign the preset change button to the upper control button etc., it does not go even to change the place. There seems to be a high degree of freedom and there are some restrictions.

Well, is it a problem of getting used to it? If you do not get used to using it, I will add an expression pedal.

What set after purchasing GT-1000
After initial purchase of GT - 1000 we assigned the function of the knob which can be used on the play screen.

We will introduce it in the following article, so please have a look at it together.

Finally
I had a long history of GT - 10 and it was about a year since I bought GT - 100, but I bought GT - 1000 without hesitation.

I just thought that I could deepen the function still more because I was so happy just by touching it. If there is anything found, I will introduce it on the blog.

What I would like to set up first when I bought the BOSS multi effector GT - 1000

BOSS's multi-effecter "GT-1000" is a delicious thing that you can edit the settings in detail, but when you change multiple presets, things will happen afterwards that "You should have done that too" There were many.

I will introduce the setting that I bought the GT - 1000 actually "I did it first" or "I wanted to do it from the beginning" setting.

Set the output according to the output destination
The first thing I want to do is "Optimize output according to amp".

By default, "TUBE STACK 412 INPUT (input of stack amp with speaker and head separated)" is set, so it is necessary to insert it into the return terminal of the stack amp or change it when using it with JC - 120 etc. .

Make one basic setting
Since it can be set to fine details in the GT - 1000, setting it for each preset is extremely annoying.

I think that there are habits depending on the person who uses it, I think that it is smooth and good to create a new preset by copying it after making one "my default setting".

So, here is what I want to do first to make "my own default setting".

Order of effectors
When I thought that "I'd like to change the way of arranging effecters all the presets I've made so far" when I got an idea that "It would be fine to do that" after making a preset to a certain extent.

The order of arrangement of effectors used at the very least is better usability if you first decided on the order of effectors.

In the case of myself, "I want to change the position of the distortion and OD we put in send / return", so the sound will change depending on the order, so it is quite a serious change.

Decide the policy of using the control button
There are three control buttons, you can assign effects on / off, on / off of tuner, etc.

The setting of each control button is quite troublesome, so do not have to complicate three later if you assign three things that you think are frequently used.

I will decide the color policy of the LED
Since you can change the LED color of the pedal in the GT - 1000, if you change the setting of the control button, the mistake of stepping down is also reduced, but it is better to first decide what kind of role it is in what color is.

It is too troublesome to change this later too, so it is easier for you to decide by policy only at the beginning.

By default, it automatically puts out the color when it is on, but it is convenient to set the color when off.

When assigning a channel switch, so to speak, so to speak, there is a so-called back and forth state, so directing the back and front feeling like "Red when turning on, blue when turning on", etc. Delays etc. are like "Cyan at white on when turning off" It is convenient to make it easy to see what effects are not applied.

Record frequently used effect setting with "STOMPBOX function"
It is convenient to take advantage of the "STOMPBOX function" which allows you to store all settings for frequently used effects.

If you create a preset for STOMPBOX, it will be applied to all presets when changing parameters.

When the fine tuning of "want to suppress distortion" or "want to cut a little bit" is required depending on the amp in the field, if the settings are set apart for each preset, the changed part becomes enormous. Let's avoid the trouble after using the STOMPBOX function for such a time.

Knob settings available on the play screen
The knob under the GT - 1000 's display can not only change the numerical value of parameters, but also assign some functions on the play screen.

For example, it is convenient to set BPM change here.

I will introduce about setting of such knob in another article, so please also look into this one.

Personal GT-1000 usage policy
Finally, I will write about personal GT-1000 usage policy.

First of all, I do not use amp simulator. It sounds like it sounds like it listens with headphones, but it feels buried in the band ensemble.

I am using a distortion effector, I insert JHS Morning Glory as a basic distortion in send / return and add OD - 1 inside the GT - 1000. I'm making a sound by imagining a simple setting like "Marshall amplifier with two distortion effectors" and delay, and adding other elements as an accent there.

The control buttons are based on "OD on / off" "on / off on send / return" "on / off on delay" as a basis, I use it by a preset according to a slight extent. As I said earlier, I made one preset and then copied it to make a new preset, but by making one preset as a reference, I can reduce mistakes and editing is easy.

The color of the LED is still in doubt, but if you forget to step on this while playing, the bad thing is red. I wish it would be a prominent color so that it would be a message from myself in the past saying this if I got lost.

Finally
If you bought the GT - 1000 and want to do it for a while it seems that there are some things that you think is that you should have set it up, but that the user who read this article does not find it too bothersome even a little I hope.

Here is the first impression of GT-1000.

It is convenient to set it as a knob of BOSS multi effector GT - 1000

There are six knobs under the display of the GT - 1000.

It is also used for editing effects parameters, but you can also use various functions by assigning them in the "play screen" as well.

I will introduce the functions that I thought useful to set as the knob of the GT - 1000.

It is convenient to set it as a knob of GT - 1000
Toggle pedal "Wow · Whammy"
I do not use the volume pedals much, and any preset is "Wow or Whame". When I want to use the volume rendition style I occasionally make a volume pedal, and wah and Whammy are more frequented.

When doing a new song, I copy the preset of the appropriate song and edit it, but it is troublesome to get inside the setting only for switching between wah and whammy, and "PEDAL FX> TYPE" is added to the knob Has been assigned.

Personally it was quite convenient. If you are making songs, you will want to experiment with wah and whammy respectively. Switching in one step when going back and forth is good without stress.

Enter tuner mode
It was a waste to assign the on / off of the tuner to the pedal (I want to use 3 control buttons), so it was a nice result when I set the tuner to the tuner. Every time I use the tuner I have to crouch, but I did not feel it was inconvenient.

It is "TUNER> ON / OFF" , but as soon as you turn on it will enter the tuner mode and the knob will not work so it will only turn on. To turn off the tuner, press the "EXIT button".

Key and BPM settings
Personally, I want to set up BPM exactly, because I make separate presets for each song, I often set and change BPM. That's why it was very convenient to make BPM changeable with knobs.

It is two of "MASTER> BPM" "MASTER> KEY" .

There is no need to set the key depending on the song, but occasionally I want to use the Harmonist, so it is convenient to put keys in memos of songs as well. I assign a key change next to BPM.

Carryover on / off
In the GT - 1000, "carry - over" function was installed to preserve the reverberation sound of the delay when switching presets. You can move between presets without sound breaks.

Nonetheless, depending on the songs, I think that there is also a way to use "I want to cut off the delay at the stage where I changed the preset to break at the next measure".

It is convenient to assign "MASTER> CARRYOVER" for such a case .

External FX Loop Send / return on / off
Although one distortion effector is inserted in the send / return, depending on the preset, send / return on / off of the control button may not be set depending on the preset. Because there are only three control buttons, it is sometimes filled with FX etc.

It is convenient to set "SEND / RETURN 1> ON / OFF" or "SEND / RETURN 2> ON / OFF" to the knob so that send / return can be turned on and off .

I did not set it, but it seems useful
I think that "PATCH> PATCH SELECT" which is set by default also is convenient for those who use it widely.

This is also set by default, but since "MASTER> PATCH LEVEL" can also adjust the volume of each patch, it is convenient depending on how it is used. However, I think that usage methods that raise the level with EQ will improve the responsiveness in the field. If you set the patch level, you will have to tamper with all the presets, but if you use EQ etc, you can adapt to all the presets if you change one by the STOMPBOX function.

About the setting you want to do first on the GT-1000
It is one of the things I want to do first for the function assignment of the knob on the play screen, but I wrote an article about the setting I want to keep immediately after purchasing. Please also refer to this.

Finally
I think that there is probably a more convenient method of using knobs because I just started using it.

If you have something good idea please let me know as well.

Updated to GT-1000 Ver.1.10! AIRD Output Select Library and IR Loader also came out to BTS (Mac / Windows)!
GT-1000 UPDATE

Updater of Ver.1.10 was distributed today on BOSS 'GT - 1000 site.

I downloaded it, it was updated, there was no thing that I felt the problem, but it seems to have been fixed a bug !

PC's BOSS TONE STUDIO can now be used!

Since I am a human being who loves to operate a real machine, it is about downloading a patch of a fortune, but I am pleased that you can easily obtain images related to parameters with this.

f: id: gtrider: 20180518195305p: plain

For people who are considering purchasing the GT - 1000, you can tap into various situations in off - line mode and you will understand how the parameters etc of the effect are, so let 's download and install it by all means.

Next is an additional function which was foretold, First is AIRD Output Select Library.

AIRD Output Select Library data things were also distributed , and you can use connection settings with amplifiers such as Fender , VOX, Marshall etc. by using library for USER-1 and 2 of OUTPUT SELECT .

I made a keen prosperity and tried putting the kettner trie amp's return setting in the lecture, dreaming of a someday to use ... / /.

And this is now IR Loader, speaker calibration using the IR to the speaker type vignette will be soft for reading so that it can be used a model.

Even those who can not adapt to GT's speaker settings will now be able to produce good sounds in LINE and headphones, which will also be useful for recording.

Is there a way to assign pedals 1 thru 5 to ANY patch number instead of just 1 thru 5 in the current bank?

For example:

PEDAL 1 = PATCH # U21
PEDAL 2 = PATCH # U05

Etc....?

its best to create a new LiveSet - and move / copy / place your 5 favorite patches (U21 & U05) in the same new patch bank

to expand...
Just to add a little clarity and get it all in one place...

The Stompbox feature provides 10 save slots for each effect type. So, 10 compressor slots, 10 EQ slots, 10 delay slots, 10 master delay slots, 10 amp slots... The FX1 - FX3 blocks have 10 slots for each sub type, so 10 acoustic sim slots, 10 phaser slots, etc. Each slot holds all the parameters for the corresponding type except for the on/off state. Each stompbox slot also gets a name of your choosing.

You can copy parameters from a patch into a stomp box slot, which also "links" the stompbox slot to the patch. You can copy parameters from a stompbox slot to the patch, which does not "link" them. You can "link" them. Or you can unlink them. Link is my word, but I think it describes it well.

When a stompbox is linked to a patch, the parameters show up on screen with a white background, so you can tell they are stompbox parameters. If you edit linked stompbox parameters and save the patch it will modify all other patches that are linked to the same stompbox slot. If you don't want to modify other patches, you can just go to the last page of parameters for the effect where it shows the stompbox parameter, spin the knob counter clockwise until you get ---- for the stompbox value. Then you still have the parameter values that the stompbox had, but you are no longer linked, and the parameters are no longer shown with a white background.

There is no requirement to use the stompbox feature, and if you do use it there is no requirement to use it for everything. It's your choice to ignore it, use it for copying favorite settings, use it to share settings between patches, or any combination of those that you want.

I ordered my GT-1000 yesterday and I won't even have it in my paws until next week, but I went ahead and downloaded the latest firmware, Tone Studio, etc so that I'm ready when it gets here.

I installed Tone Studio and I was surprised that I could actually run the program (albeit with limited functionality) without a GT-1000 connected to it.

Looking at the signal chain of a sample patch, I found the view to be cluttered due to the fact that every available block is always shown whether its being used or not. Its very easy to move blocks around in TS, and so I came up with a method that I believe I'll use on all of my patches in order to have a cleaner-looking chain. I doubt that I'll ever need 3 dividers, so I used one of them for storage of unused blocks. The blocks in use will be positioned to the left side of the chain, and the "storage area" (Divider 3), will be positioned to the right. The signal for Divider 3 will be routed to the upper path, such that any effects within the storage area will be bypassed whether they are on or off.

Another advantage of doing this, is that all of the blocks which are in use within a patch will should be completely visible on the LCD screen without scrolling to the right, unless the patch just happens to use a crapload of blocks. I'll have to try this out once I have a unit to play with, but I think it makes sense.

Also it seems they took out the ability to use the 5 program change switches in conjunction with the tuner by pressing any switch twice. Now we have to use up one of the control switches to use the tuner? Not good.

DML Wrote>
It is possible to put the tuner under the 5 program change switches!!
Go to the CTL/EXP menu, choose tab CONTROL FUNCTION, go to CURNUM.
Set CURNUM to Tuner.
For extra visibility you can program the color of the current footswitch by going to tab CONTROL LED COLOR, choose the current number footswitch, i.e. NUM5. Set NUM5 ON to RED and set NUM5 OFF to BLUE. And that's it!!
If you want the Tuner to be activated under any program switch, you have to repeat the above steps.

In this same matter, I've programmed the Solo function under every program switch. So the first hit on the switch is choosing the patch, the second hit SOLO+DELAY are activated. Hit the switch again and SOLO+DELAY are deactivated. It's like the Morping function on the Kemper Profiler  ;)
