Anyone compare the TS308 Altos to the CP8 QSCs for sound quality? Look to be about the same size/weight. Alto gets a "plus" for having its controls centered back there - important for my rig.

CP-8 by a large margin - you get what you pay for

Thanks Steve. Looks like a CP8 is in my near future ...

Arrived, tried, and worked into my rig.

Definite higher fidelity, great for acoustic, synth, and keys sounds. For guitars, need to re-work my patches, the difference in high-end needs a tweak for what I need to hear.

I've used a lot of different powered cabinets for rented backline. Meyer is my favorite, but mostly I get QSC K10s or K12s. I prefer the K8 for its wider dispersion horn. The K.2s (along with the TurboSound Iq series) seem to have something in the processing that gets in the way of good electric guitar amp "feel." I got the chance to try a QSC CP8 earlier this year, and was kinda blown away, especially for electric guitar. Maybe simpler processing? Another one in the same price range I have to recommend is the TurboSound Milan M12. I don't know yet how long the CP8s will last on the road, but I can tell you about one particular M12 I used over the years in Denver that was being used as a monitor every night and still sounded good.

Those are good gears, you cannot go wrong with any one of them.
