But what does it actually do? Is it just an internal gk kit or something more?

lumena

Pretty exciting, looks like 13 pin is not going away.

I should know in 24 hours

I am very curious as well... Good luck in your mission

maglich

I wonder if they'll make lefties.. fingers crossed : )

Love their trem system with fanned frets - interesting - wonder if it's a straight Gk kit or something more

Here we go. Like a variax, I guess?

aliensporebomb

It's gorgeous and I've always wanted a Strandberg since I first saw them but this is "relevant to my interests".  Just add the trem and it would be perfect.

Alex H. With first demo.

Can't make embed work so help is nice.

They really need to get someone other than Alex hutchings to do their demos. Every time he plays, it sounds like 1985 is calling, irrespective of guitar or amp settings.

So, it's the next V-Strat rather than 13-pin output.  I hope they would do a 13-pin.

Wait... it's a "V-Guitar" like the Fender thing with no hex out? No thanks.

Exactly, i feel the same.

Also, weird sound of the gr300 in the upper octave.

In a way the smartest no 13 pin solution is to have an hexa pickup and all the Modeling and ALT-Tunings electronics on board. 1/4" Jack output  and go.
Having the GR300 model and all the baritones it's more than the corresponding Fender V-Guitar (GC-5) could do. It looks like they squeezed a GP10 section into the Guitar. Maybe that's the direction of hexa guitars.
L6 models guitars, Roland also models GR300 and maybe more in he future. As electronics achieves improved levels of miniaturization that might really be the path.

My 2 cents

I got the impression that this guitar is not yet finished and I feel it will not get off the ground. It may lead to more ideas. The company makes a good guitar, I suggest getting one and installing a internal GK-3.

Okay I get the desire to have gargantuan grunge power chords in a six string but the GR300 was having some issues - like a delay setting got left turned on and it sounded like it was mistracking oddly.

And yeah, no 13-pin out, no sale.  If they could condense a VG-99 to a chip and give me a stereo out then I'd be fine but seriously, a mono out is about as inspiring as a stale carrot or something.

Beautiful guitar, I wish I could have seen it close up - there has to be a 13-pin out there somewhere.

ASB, you're right but we have also to consider a wider market than the 13 pin geeks we have become here.
13 Pin still looks strange to many people. SY-300 it's a good attempt to establish a Guitar Synth market share without GK.
All guitarists want to sound like keyboards but at the same time they love their axe and avoid any strange modifications... ;)
One way or the other guitar modeling it's here to stay. In the end it does not matter if it's an external box of wonders or an internal board.
My feeling is that the heart of this guitar might be a GP10 without the FX DSP part. Surely a prototype not a finished item IMHO.
Let's see what they will come out with.

No 13-pin out? That sure is disappointing for those of us who've already invested a lot of time and money into the VGuitar realm.
