Apparently, Russ has switched from Line 6 to the GR-55. One tune using a nylon patch, and the second using a distorted electric guitar patch.

I saw them perform at Yoshi's in Oakland, CA a few months ago.  Russ played exclusively through his GR-55, using his Brian Moore signature goldtop.  It sounded fantastic!  Very natural nylon acoustic, great electric jazz, and smooth distortion electric sounds with just a few presets.  He was able to closely match the older recordings.  They ended with a phenomenal Hendrix medley that you would not expect from a smooth jazz band!  Incredible musicians!

Cool. He sounds good.

Did anybody else notice that he rebooted the 55 towards the end of the longer video?

I've listened to this music and heard the name but for what
ever reason(s) I never realized who they were . Never
connected the name and the songs/band . Wasn't the first time
heh heh heh won't be the last I'm sure .

I heard their music had helped several coma victims come out
of their deep sleep . I thought this sound was that of the
Mannheim Steamroller by mistake  :o .

I really thought the Rippingtons were another group entirely
different from these guys  . Thanks for posting this music is
special and different from the current smooth jazz scene IMHO .
I feel the love of life's glory and the excitement of knowing as
we/you/they play it .

I really dig getting into this feel of groove they through down .
What a super cool lush soundscape they paint . I love playing
stuff like this too ,
