Hello

I expected to use FS-7 (with GP10) to change Mainstage Patches (not GP10 Patches), through MIDI  messages.
But I see (in Mainstage)  no MIDI message sent  from FS-7 !
Is it possible ?

I believe  FS-7 is not only a "Boss Hardware " controller, but really a midi general controller
But i'm not so sure GP10 ctrl 3/4 switch is made for that
If it is the case , I'm quite interested to know how you proceeded !

Go to the GP 10 system settings and enable midi program change transmission

it's off by default

It's already donefor GP10 , and I already declared CTRL2 button and the pedal as MIDI controllers, and it's OK I see the midi messages
Anyway nothing sent with from FS7. Maybe I don't use a real TRs cable ...

FS-7 is not a MIDI controller. It's just two foot switches in a box.

I expect what you try to do with the GP-10 is not possible. It's not a real MIDI controller at all.

You may control internal things (effects on/off, patch change etc.) of the GP-10 via the FS-7 but don't expect something magic is sent out through the USB.

AFAIK, GP-10 only transmits PC message when you make it change patch.
But I got more gear than I need...and I like it!

Thank-you all

It seems I had missed the interest of the section "Midi Foot controllers" !

I should go for logidy UMI3, that seems to fit my purpose (fonction, and size)

Most go for the MorningStar MC6

Realize the Logidy  - while powerful, can only work with a Computer via USB  - and not the GP-10

Ah yes, for future steps it's interesting for me to know that.

Would it requires additional material to my existing config (GP10 and MacBook Pro) ?
Like a Midi interface connected to my MacBook, or a MIDX-20 ...

Hello

As a conclusion of this topic,
"Of course" that was a mistake to even try to use Boss FS-7 to command Mainstage Patches !

I went for the Lodigy UMI3 that does the job

For larger possiblities than only changing patches in mainstage (changing GP10 parameters, doing more actions in mainstage), I'll try one of these days Morningstar CC6
