Description
Put the fun back in your playing with Flying Haggis - the distinctive guitar amp for discerning guitarists.

Simply plug in your guitar via any iOS compatible interface (eg IK Multimedia iRig, Apogee Jam) and start playing. Or, connect via Audiobus for additional multi-fx possibilities!

Flying Haggis is an all-original amp design with great tones, a nice selection of vintage fx, and a no nonsense interface with all the pick-up-and-play appeal of real hardware. There are no complex menus or screens to navigate. There are no in-app purchases or advertising to distract you. Just start up the app, plug in your guitar, and play.

Don't take our word for it - visit our website to hear examples of Flying Haggis in action!

With a realistic vintage tone stack, multi-stage preamp, 6 speaker cabinets and 4 mic positions, you can quickly dial in a massive range of amp tones. The vintage style stompboxes (drawn from db audioware's extensive fx library) and stereo reverb complete your sound.

Audiobus compatibility lets you record Flying Haggis output directly into any compatible app, or process your synths or drums using Flying Haggis as an Audiobus effect.

Flying Haggis can also be controlled from any iOS compatible MIDI device. This lets you easily switch presets and manually control any amp parameter from real knobs or sliders.

QuoteFlying Haggis: very low latency, and I love the no-nonsense simplicity about it, from the single-screen UI to the fixed, well-documented CC MIDI programmability.  I.e. have your controller send the specified numbers, done.  Keeps the software simple so there's very little learning curve.  The whole thing is sufficiently spelled out in about 2 pages of text, which includes a nice introduction concerning the developer's design philosophy.  Having said all that, I'm not personally crazy about its tone, and it is perhaps just slightly too simple for my needs: e.g. I could use at minimum a good OD/DIST in the effects chain, and a more flexible reverb.  But if the developer revs. the app to these or other ends, I hope he doesn't compromise his vision of a simple, one-screen amp sim.  It's extremely uncommon these days, and refreshing.

Late yesterday I got some quality time with my iPad Air 128GB with IK iRig Pro and headphones to try out the latest  Ipad Guitar system.

And I must say  Flying Haggis was most impressive  - Easy to dial in great tones or dynamically go from clean to "just on the verge of breakup" just by using the "Distortion knob"  and point and shoot user interface is very live gig oriented - I highly recommend this app!

Now I'm itching to get back to it and give it a second chance; see if I can't dial in some tones that I like.  The demo tracks on their website are very impressive - I'm especially fond of the "dreamy" Andy Summers sound they achieve.  It could be that I got distracted by ToneStack too soon to give it a fair shake.

But as I've already said, I absolutely love the common-sense simplicity of Flying Haggis.

QuoteBias and JamUp are awesome, impressive applications, but not entirely practical.

That sums it up for me too.

But Its like the old line:

[Patient walks into Doctors office and says:] "Doc,  it hurts whens I move my left arm"

[Doctor responds:] "Then use your right Arm, and  don't move your left Arm"

Frankly after 15 minutes of Flying Haggis - I had a more rewarding experience and stereo FX too  ( still lacking in all Postive Grid apps Summer 2014  )

- Haggis has excellent presets that show off its capabilities,  and Low latency - In dB Audio's Flying Haggis I think I  might have found my ultimate  reliable IOS gig app

That's awesome!  I only heard of Flying Haggis because someone reviewing ToneStack happened to mention it.  The name, "Flying Haggis", wouldn't have put it anywhere on my radar otherwise.  :)

It does have as trustworthy a vibe as an iPad app can have, with there being so little to configure and subsequently break.

Same here - never heard of it before - but I have heard of dB Audioware before - good stuff!

OK this has my attention. An ios app for live playing. After a couple months of various tube amps/cabs and the gigantor HD500/Talk Box rig for most of my gigs I used my GR55/Pedals/Talk Box rig with 2 Alto 10s to play my monthly casino gig that requires a huge variety of guitar/keyboard tones and it sounded amazing! Fantastic! I did not miss the tube amps at all. So now I am looking at an Ipad/Flying Haggis setup for smaller gigs and also to integrate with my 2 GR55s.I am thinking that this might be the one to make getting a nice used ipad/interface/Blueboard etc...worth the cash outlay. My gear has to get lighter. It is a long walk into a lot of these places I work in.Thanks for all the info!

I just bought a refurbished 4th generation ipad from Apple and also on Elantrics recommendation purchased Flyng Haggis.Love that one! Instant gratification and superb sounds! Effects are stupid good.I like the fact that it is it's own thing and not Fender/Marshall/Boogie etc...modelling. I tend to make my own sounds when not looking at graphics of production amps.Very very cool app.Been playing Western Flyer with it! Mahavishnu for days!!!

Flying Haggis is serious toneful "blank" used it this morning LOUD with my Ipad/strat/powered speaker setup. Warmer than Jamup/BIAS.And yes those mid gain tones are ez to get.I like not seeing Marshall/Fender/Boogie etc...amp graphics when I use it just that ugly little Flying Haggis dude.I am off to rehearse with Ipad/strat/powered speaker in original band Follys Pool.I can use Flying Haggis or Jamup both are terrific!

Have you figured out how to turn Midi Control off for Flying Haggis ?

It is hard to control Sample Tank while the volume for Flying Haggis does the same thing.

I am using iPad Air with Triple Play, live.

Thanks
