Well, this saddens me a great deal, but I have come to the difficult conclusion that I can't afford the Moog E1-M that I just received.  It's an amazing instrument, and totally unique. But it's also just not affordable to me.  I bought it and now find myself in a situation where in theory I could keep it...but I think for financial stability reasons I have to let it go.  So within a day or so I will be posting it on Ebay.

FGN is not supposed to be a destination for buying and selling, so please just contact me directly (PM) if you'd like pricing details.  Otherwise it will go up on Ebay very soon.

This instrument is essentially brand new: I purchased the E1 way back in the summer and received it several moths ago. After using it for only a very short time (literally days) , I sent it back to Moog asking some technical questions about mounting a 13 pin system on the instrument.  Basically I 'require' a 13 pin output and I could not get as good results as I wanted out of mounting a Roland GK-3 on it.  So I had to wait until the Moog E1-M was announced at NAMM. As you may know, the E1-M is essentially a Moog E1 with a built in 13 pin based on the Piezo pickups that are present on all Moog gutiars.  Moog modified the instrument and sent it back to me just a few days ago.  It's never left my studio, been played a hand full of times.  It and the case and the pedals/cables/everything look absolutely mint.

By the way, the infinite sustain of the Moog E1-M in conjunction with the modeling in the VG-99 is AMAZING!  Works like a charm!  If you are into the GR-300 modeling on the VG-99 you are absolutely going to flip out using the E1-M with it!  SICK! Using the sustain system with the standard guitar and effect modeling in the VG-99 is absolutely insane, too. And, since the VG-99 is modeling based on the actual input from the guitar strings, all of the subtle shifts in harmonics that occur when using the Moog sustain/mute system come through too. SO much more expressive (IMHO) than pitch to MIDI!

This really is a pretty amazing setup.

Note to you VG-99 users: There is one quirk I have found with the 13pin system that they installed - there is something up with the "GK Volume Knob" and "Synth/Mix/Guitar" switch that Moog is using.  If I use the default settings on the VG-99 which map the GK Volume Knob to the COSM Guitar A&B volume, I only have to rotate the knob 2/3 of it's travel to make the VG-99 think that the volume is turned all the way up.  Even weirder, if the volume knob IS turned all the way up, then I switch from Synth to Guitar and then back to Synth using the Synth/Mix/Guitar switch, then when I return to the Synth setting, I hear nothing out of my VG-99.    I've figured out that this is some strange quirk and there are ways to work around it which really aren't difficult.... but I thought I would mention this here since you all know me as someone who wanted to use the Moog with the VG-99

Note:  This has almost nothing to do with my interest in selling the guitar. I need to sell for financial reasons, not technical ones!

Alright, I'm rambling now - I mainly wanted to let my FGN friends know that this instrument is available before it went up on Ebay.

Thank you.  I am too! But hey - When more steady work comes around, I'll buy one again!  So it goes.

I'd really love one of these, but I'm inclined to think that I can't afford it either.

Sorry to see this didn't sell. I don't suppose that means you'd consider bringing the price down ;)

Yep. I did.  It's BRAND new - and was already somewhat lower priced than one can get online. But now it's a good bit lower!  I'm pretty confident someone will pick it up soon.... I'm going to kick myself for this.....

Good luck. Third time's a charm!

I've become more zen about it now. I have time. It will sell. It's a great price right now, and I have it open for offers (though the acceptable range is quite small).  It'll happen. I'm also going to sell one of my custom ergonomic guitars (totally different beast).

MCK-fgn

Hmm, custom ergonomic guitar... please post here too. Would love to see. Good luck.

Here is a story about it. Note that the Sustainiac issue that is mentioned in the story is (for the MOST part) resolved.
