Boss GT-10 is 21.5" wide
Roland G-33 is 17.5" wide
Roland G-20 is 13.5" wide
Roland US-20 is 6.5" wide

Doing the math.... 59 inches of stompywhatsis or 4.91 feet!
THATS A LOT OF FLOOR!

Any ideas?
Come on you geniuses! Tin Foil Hats off and Meat Helmets on!
I will try just about anything to make this useable on stage.

Hmmm, 2 guitar synth, a selector to go in between and a guitar effects processor to boot. That's a lot of floor space indeed and a lot of stomping I must say. I have no idea how you use this setup and why but mine is not to question but try to help.

I would suggest you take one long look at a VG-99 + FC300 (or alternatively FCB1010 if you don't mind a little more config work for a lot more stomp buttons). I bet you can do most if not all with VG-99 that you currently do with the GT-10 + G-33 + G-20.

Just my .02c. All the best.

Well in that case, I'm sure someone must have mentioned this back then... Its not how many you have or how big they are... Its how you use them !!!

Joke aside, any chance to try the VG-99 without buying? Go for it if you can. You might be amazed how much of your current gear it could replicate for you in a smaller package. I am a long time tube-head and would not touch these silicon-crates with a long stick but now I'm finding myself  on the fast path to becoming the next convert...

Mount them on a small flight of stairs

And you could even make the stairs the fold in the middle and close in to become case or trunk etc. Could help with the transport.

I went with Boss GT-10. I really like it.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel that in all this technology we are starting to forget that it is the guitar we are playing after all.... I am all for various GUITAR sounds, but I, FWIW, have no need at all to have it sound as any other instrument.
Was watching the Moog video this morning - if you close your eyes - you don't even know what the heck is playing....

I'll stick to guitar sounds.
Play on, my friend !!!

Yeah... I was thinking.... TACKLE BOX.... you know how you open some of them and they have a couple of layers that kind of fold UP as it opens? Then when you close it... you just stow the power cable and lock 'er up and haul it away.

All valid points... I have no real interest in playing Zamfir Master of the Pan Flute on my guitar.
However... when a string pad or a hammond can be layered behind and below your guitar sound... you sound like a 5 piece but only split the gig pay three ways :)

Just the devil's advocate position for the sake of a good civilized discussion. After all we all have our preferences and that's what makes this world beautiful. If everyone felt and behaved the same we would be so boring and possibly extinct!

No harm in doing that but what is "guitar" sound? The instrument which we have come to love has gone through so much change in the last thousand year or so. Think about it.

Less than a hundred years ago, electric guitar came about. Perhaps purists hated it at that time as well. Clean voice was the thing. Then came the tubes that distorted and parents and the purists hated that sound too... Then came Les Paul and did things like multi-track recording with slowed down or increased speed tracks... Then came Jimi and his cohort experimenting with anything and everything inventing along the way some of the sounds that we all crave for even now.

So in short who can say this is guitar and this is not? Key is to love what you do and do what you love and repeat as often as possible! Peace!!!

This idea intrigued me as a basis for a mobile rig

They are at Home Depot

If you are clever The bottom unit fits 19" rack FX -
I'd buy it for the folding frame - then modify the hell out of it

Its very Colin Chapman / Lotus's employee Ron Hickman  inspired.

:) :) :) Great! Funny thing is only a week ago I would say exactly the same things. You know about me knee deep in tube amp building etc.

There are those of us that can modify the hell out of something... like...for instance... YOU!
Then there are the rest of us that hack something to all hell and back and it ends up at the curb on trash day!

I rack it up to the cost of an educational experience ;)

What about a "lazy susan" approach? You could spin it with one foot until your pedal of choice came around.

replace nibbles with pedals...

I am joking, of course.

Elantric-fgn

Or a robot lazy susan turntable and a slip ring to maintain electrical contact while it rotates.

Yes, there would be some engineering challenges to overcome. Most problems can be solved by selecting a bigger hammer in my experience.

Yeah - I'd say: Stack a couple up "stair style".  I did this for a long time with three MIDI Wizard pedals I was using. (two on top of each other, one next to those two).  I'm driven batty by the size and weight of just the FC-300: I've purchased, modified, and sold no fewer than 7 cases for the VG-99/Footpedals/FC-300/Lemur/computer interface system I'm running...and I'm  STILL not properlyhappy with it....next stop: I'm getting rid of the FC-300 and building my own pedalboard.

MCK-fgn

I'm thinking of opening the FC300, rerouting the connections for the 2 external stomp pedals to the 4/9 & 5/10 patch selection pedals. This way I will have 2 more stomp pedals onboard. I can simply save my favorite patches to the positions that I can recall using the first 3 buttons left (1/6 + 2/7 + 3/8).

Doable right?
