Take Control of Your MIDI Music World
Take command of your MIDI music gear with the BOSS EV-1-WL, the world's first wireless MIDI expression pedal. The EV-1-WL provides wireless foot control for BOSS products such as the EURUS GS-1 and Waza-Air, music apps on mobile devices, and anything that can receive CC messages via Bluetooth® MIDI. In addition, USB and MIDI TRS connectivity are on hand for wired control of computer music software and standard MIDI devices. Whether you go wireless or wired—or both at once—the EV-1-WL delivers a ton of MIDI power in a compact footprint.

Expand Your Performance Range with Bluetooth
The EV-1-WL is the ideal creative partner for the growing range of music performance hardware with Bluetooth wireless support. Use it to control pitch bend, filter, and other synth functions in the BOSS EURUS GS-1 guitar. Or add external footswitches to create a wireless mini pedalboard for patch selection, wah/volume control, and more in the Waza-Air personal guitar amp system. The EV-1-WL can also communicate wirelessly with a standard 5-pin MIDI device that has the Roland WM-1 Wireless MIDI Adaptor installed.

EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal
Wireless MIDI Control for Computers and Mobile Devices
Pair the EV-1-WL via Bluetooth with Mac computers, smartphones, and tablets to interface with music apps that support remote operation with MIDI CC messages, from guitar amp simulators and effects to virtual instruments and music production software. And if you're a Windows user, you can add a Roland WM-1D dongle for wireless communication with the EV-1-WL.

EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal
Plug-and-Play via USB
The EV-1-WL also works as a standalone USB MIDI controller for music software on Mac or Windows computers. The class-compliant interface means there are no drivers to install—simply plug in with a USB cable and configure your software as needed for external MIDI input.

EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal
Control MIDI Stompboxes, Multi-Effects, and More
With its space-saving TRS MIDI output, the EV-1-WL is a powerful accessory for all types of MIDI music hardware, from effect pedals and multi-effects processors to keyboards, drum machines, and beyond. Use a TRS-to-TRS cable with mini plugs to connect with BOSS pedals equipped with TRS MIDI, including 200 series effects and the RC-5 and RC-500 Loop Stations. Or grab the BOSS BMIDI-5-35 cable to connect with any device that has a standard 5-pin MIDI input jack.

EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal
Deep Customization
The free EV-1-WL Editor app for iOS and Android devices lets you customize MIDI CC assignments for the EV-1-WL's pedal, toe switch, and up to two external footswitches. The Bluetooth, USB, and TRS MIDI outputs support simultaneous operation, and you can create independent control settings for each. It's also possible to set the switches for momentary or latching operation, adjust the pedal's response curve, and more.

Reading between the lines, it seems like it isn't locked to Roland's WIDI plugs if it can work natively with Mac (and iOS, then, right?).  I guess I'll be fine as long as my phone could intermediate with the CME plugs I already bought.

The foot-switch input is interesting, possibly a bigger deal than they're hinting at in making this a very flexible and powerful device.  Hoping the app will have an offline mode so I can check out the possibilities.  Whatever it can do, I think I'm done hoping a cheap Moog MP-201 will fall into my lap.  (Not giving up my Source Audio Reflex, though.)

Is anyone reliably using BLE live on stage?  It would seem to me that a wired MIDI expression pedal (like Source Audio Reflex) would be more reliable.

As a companion to the EURUS guitar it sort of makes sense, but again it feels like neither of them would appeal to professional guitarists.

In USA - for playing live with  BLE control,  its the "worship Teams" at Sunday services with the most experience and population

Onsong recommend the CME WIDI MASTER and WIDI JACK

Not exactly a concert stage with lots of RFI, right?

How about a concert venue with thousands and stage lighting?

I think guitar builder has a point ... perhaps not the point he was intending though

No beer resting on the edge of stage in a worship scenario ... pro gear has to be able to cope!!  Look at all those holes just waiting for a knocked over glass ...

;D
Main rig: Barden Hexacaster and Brian Moore i2.13 controllers
Boss SY1000/Boss GKC-AD/Boss GM-800/Laney LFR112

Other relevant gear: Line 6 Helix LT, Roland GR-33, Axon AX100 MkII
Oberheim Matrix 6R, Supernova IIR, EMu E5000, Apple Mainstage, Apple Logic, MOTU M4

There is a wired 1/8" TRS MIDI out on the pedal (and USB MIDI if that fits your needs), so you're not tied to Bluetooth on this one.  Since this is a solution for a few use cases, we should try not to box it in based on its most current tech.

The Reflex is great but discontinued and the price is going up on it because of that.  This one is available now and replaceable under warranty.  If I were specifying a stage rig for right now that didn't rely on gear that is nearly impossible to replace, the choice is obvious. Though who knows how long this is on the market.

I really want at least one of these to compliment my SoftStep 2. I'm not sure if you can use multiple EV-1-WL devices yet, but I suspect not. I tried local (Korea) and there is nothing -- Cosmos Music is possibly the worst BOSS/Roland distributor in the world.

So, I contacted the salesman in Japan who I got the SY-1000 from and he said no boogie, cannot sell BOSS items outside of the Japanese domestic market which I believe but suspect they would normally do anyway for a quick buck.

The pedals are on Sweetwater, Thomman and Reverb now for pre-order so I guess that'll be the only way to get one with a big wait.

Also, CME has their new stuff on 50% off sale so I ordered a WIDI Uhost transmitter https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost-2021-preorder/ (for the KMI SoftStep2) and a WIDI Bud Pro https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-bud-preorder/ (for the iCA4+)...was just under $90 for both with the USB C cables and postage. Should arrive in 2 weeks.

I've been looking for a 2nd "bud" for a while; I have the older pro and it works well but having multiples of the same device on the iCA4+'s hub can confuse it -- so this should work well.

Got one today. What to say ;) works as described. Connected via cable with gt1000. Very small, pedal is smaller than gt1000. No problem at all with configuration. Maybe bit too pricey, but I like it.

Is it made of plastic or aluminum like the rest of the expression pedals?

Plastic.

pasha811

Can it be used to expand connections? I mean I have a VG99 and I can connect an expession pedal (EV-5) and two FS-5 clones.
If I use EV-1-WL (opposed to EV-5) and expanding  it with Fa S-5 couple can I end up with 1 expression Pedal and 4 FS-5?

Thanks

IMHO, Adding a Typical modern MIDI foot controller ( MelloAudio MIDI Commander )
yields more robust connection and  expansion capabilities for VG-99 ( use the VG-99 MIDI  Control Assignments)  vs the EV1-WL

And for mission critical use, I have zero confidence  in a BLE wireless connection for live performance at large venues - consider all the competing RF spectrum in 2021.
The " your table is ready" wireless annunciators, IOT temperature controllers, wireless  solar power controllers smartphones, AC power wireless Meters , etc.

Thanks Steve!
I think I have found it in my region:
https://www.amazon.it/MeloAudio-Commander-Pedaliera-portatile-Interrutore/dp/B07F1GLGCL/ref=asc_df_B07F1GLGCL/?tag=googshopit-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=386559826006&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15005138050450099999&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1008463&hvtargid=pla-587723929809&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=78954297356&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=386559826006&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15005138050450099999&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1008463&hvtargid=pla-587723929809

Although in the current situation it's unlikely I will perform live again any soon... when I record into DAW I'd like to have more control and your suggestion looks great. I can keep the VG99 control as they are (EV-5 and FS-5 Clones) and use MeloAudio Commander to send CC to DAW and control things as Play Stop and Ableton Looper(s) as well as some VG99 additional parameters and that would work (I guess) using a Raspberry as MIDI HOST to connect GP10 and Melloadio without a computer.  In the future I will likely get an M1 Mac (Ableton Live is Apple Silicon native in beta as we speak) so I have to investigate if this will be a CoreMIDI Compliant USB device.

Thanks again!

Also many use cases for EV-1-WL are served on a deeper level by using a CME WIDI wireless MIDI product family with your existing MIDI controller instead

Icin G-Board is Extremely limited, only has USB out and can not be used unless your target device has a USB Host port
And not much cheaper than the superior  Harley Benton MP-100 (MeloAudio MIDI Commander) which also provides dual Expression pedals
