Recently my trusty VG88 v1 died and I picked up a VG88 v2. It came initialized and every patch works as it should.

But, loading some banks of my own, I'm finding that some v1 patches simply don't work in the new machine. Most are fine but here and there a v1 patch fails to make any sound at all. I've tried everything I can think of but so far no joy.

Any guidance would be a huge plus, cheerz

The VG-88 V2 is different  (and most prefer)

Many older VG-88 V1 patches can not function on a VG-88 V2

And 80% of home users attempting to change VG-88 firmware at home "brick" the VG-88

Its always a good idea to have a text file that represents a list of all parameter settings for your crucial patches - to pursue the manual task of  "patch cloning

VG-88 resources remain rare

Most tools are only qualified for use with the VG-88 V2 -and are here:

Must remember that in year 2000, Roland/Boss the GK13 VGuitar gear was considered an overpriced tool - as they sold 1000's of  Boss GT-6 multifx for each VG-88 sold

Thanks for the heads-up, I was worried something was wrong with the new machine

Thanks for the reminder!

I was straightening the front room last month, and trying to remember why I held on to the v.1 after I found a perfect v.2

I'd blame age, but I've been forgetful all my life. ;D Hence Post-It notes and string tags all over the place.
