Yes I think we definetly have to make some noise that they can here us, I really don't find any way to contact them by mail, maybe make some comments on youtube videos etc but I really wanted to ask them their plan and have an official answer.

It's the first time that I meet such a wall by trying to contact a company !

Register your SY-300 here at the Roland  / Boss Backstage site:
https://www.boss.info/backstage/#/login?redirect=%2Fmygear#register_product

Log into Roland  / Boss Backstage,

https://www.roland.com/backstage/#/support

and contact Roland Support with your specific details of your wishes for Firmware update, or any BUGS you may have discovered ( Bug Reports get placed to top of the List )

Get other Roland / Boss gear  owners to do the same.

Remember VGuitarforums is completely self run by end users for past 11 years, - but despite all efforts, Roland / Boss never  reads this forum - so its important for Roland /Boss users to make direct contact using the Backstage Support tools with your actual Roland /Boss Backstage account credentials

I submitted a request for a synth block in the GT. They closed the request  :-X I went ahead and resubmitted it; despite knowing the fate of this second futile request  ;D

Unbelievably poor Customer support from Roland Boss

https://www.roland.com/backstage/#/support
Contacted them for a simple replacement part - the Guitar Input Jack for a Cube Street

Ready to buy
and the "ROLAND ONLY" Plastic Jack Nut - that suddenly cost $5.00 each !

1/4" Jack sold separately for $7.00

Zero response from Roland US Support  after a week..

...was a bit cheaper when I bought half a dozen about 2 years ago off Roland in Oz, but not much (same part for my Cube 60 units)..

Since then, however Roland Oz seems to have changed 'company policy' on the way they are prepared to actually sell anything, and are hell-bent on just making it harder and harder to get stuff...   I was given the impression that this New Way Of Doing Things was emanating from the highest Global level of the company...

...sigh!

Roland Ceased selling parts direct to customers in 2009

They now have a scrutinizing process for a limited number of Roland Repair Centers, and only a few of them can sell parts to customers  - apparently at significant markup

But charging $4.99 USD+ $3.89 shipping ( typical) for ONE Jack Nut ( Jack sold separately) is criminal.

https://reverb.com/item/27596816-roland-input-jack-nut-for-kc350-kc500-cube-amps

I can get a "bundle" of ONE Jack Nut and ONE PCB Mount Jack for $12.99 + $7.99 shipping (USD)

https://reverb.com/item/26853255-roland-input-output-jack-and-nut-kc-100-kc-350-kc550

( I might make my own on a 3D Prusa i3MK3

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1855877

I can get 10 of the Jacks alone ( same PCB Footprint) for $7.99 with free shipping

uxcell 1/4 inches 6.35mm Headphone Mono Jack 3 Pins PCB Panel Mount Socket Connectors 10pcs

But the biggest let down is ZERO response from Roland Customer Support -

Starting to understand how Reeves Gabrels felt in 1997

I had two unbelievable email exchanges with Roland support about a Nextone Stage.

The first one was about the boost state, which is not consistent with the FS-7 (or any other footswitch):
- "I have an issue with my Nextone Stage / Boss FS-7 combination. When I switch channel the boost state is not consistent with the footswitch, as it is the last it had when I left that channel. For example, if I am on clean channel with no boost, switch to lead, turn on boost, switch again to clean: the boost footswitch is activated, but on the amp it isn't. In my opinion the boost should be consistent with the switch, considering it is a Boss FS-7, so a recommended one."
- "You shoud ckeck the cables and set the switches properly according to the manual"
- "I have already checked, same thing happens to other Nextones, so the issue is not related to my specific amp"
- "Are you on the last firmware? You should send it to a Roland support center"
- "So do ALL the Nextones need to be sent to a Roland support center, given it happens to ALL of them?"
- "It seems like you had forgotten to switch the FS-7 to FS-5L Latch mode"
- "Are you kidding me?"
- "It works that way by design."
- "So why did you tell me to send it to repair?"

Secont time I asked Roland support about the stickers for the GA-FC, Nextone version (bought it used, it had no stickers).
- 'We don't sell them as spares'.

Sold my Nextone, got a GTX100.
Bye bye Roland.

They are shut down.

I did contact the top brass and they are looking into resolving it
The COVID-19 banner above is new, and a result of my contact yesterday

But most companies have remote desktop and email forwarding to a work at home employee at this time

Apparently the Boss Customer Support phone number works - but I only got a message machine.

Based on direct experience- appears to be true

I can get better support for a 1971 PLUSH Tube combo Amp - just use Google

But anyone who still collects a weekly paycheck with the job title of
" Boss US Customer Support specialist "
I have direct experience  of  non performance

Suggest anyone test for yourself
Contact Boss Support and let us know when you get a response

Hi Steve...

No, I haven't got a Saved Search going on for this, but I couldn't resist putting this up after your earlier comments on this particular item...it popped up on one of my (other) saved Roland searches..

At first I thought I would grab the lot...then I looked at the shipping $$.  :o

I think it's time I got someone here to injection-mould these by the hundred  ::)
