Just wanted to say Codesmart's hex cables are great, as is his service.
I ordered two 2m cables, and had them very quickly (even though it was Christmas !), from Sweden to Scotland.
Thanks Codesmart

Thank you 2pods.
I've got some requests for shorter patch cables than 1 meter so in abt. two weeks I will be able to offer 0.5 meter high quality Roland compatible Gold plated GK cables.
During the last 2 years I've shipped at least 150 Cables. NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT OR RETURN!!!
The maker of the cables is really serious about QA.
GKMX-C05 0.5 meter (NEW!) (1.6 ft) $11USD
GKMX-C1 1 meter (3.3ft) $13USD
GKMX-C2 2 meter (6.6 ft) $20USD
Low cost shipping everywhere. 1-year warranty.
I don't make a fortune out of these cables. I'm happy providing great stuff at a decent price to the V-community.
Email sound@primova.se if interested.
Remember: The shorter patch cable(s) you use, the better you sound.
- For loooooonger instrument cables than 2 meter, buy Gittler or Roland ;D
- And for greeeeaaaat GK connectors contact Gumbo for his Synth Linx solutions ;D

Agreed. Great cables!
I have 3 of them.....
I just received the new batch.
I now have 0.5m, 1m and 2 meter in stock.
And due the improving US economy the USD price is lower:
$11,$12 and $18
E-mail me at sound@primova.se if interested.
Quality is great on the cables - thank you
Note Roland do not supply their short cables (that ship with US-20) as a spare, so as far as I have seen this is the only place you can get short 13pin cables
Appreciated

Hey guys,
The 13-pin cable is dead, Hell yah, long live the 13-pin cable!!!
I'm sold out on longer cables, and I'll order some more from my great manufacturer.
What is YOUR preferred length? 2,3,4 or 5 meters?
5mtr for me :-)
2 and 3 meter here...........
No more snap-crackle-pop from my 13-pin connections, thanks!
Set now for my immediate needs, but 3-meter here.
I just had a stock Roland 5 meter cable for my birthday last week. Would have asked for something else if I knew you were considering selling 5 meter cables...
5m please
2m plz.
Anyway Thank you for the midx20. I got it last week. such a great and tiny thing! so happy.
5 meters.
Can you sell also only 13 pin connectors ?
I would make a cable with 13 pin on one side and a jack 1/4 on the other side so I can use gr55 guitar input (Pin 7 if I remember right) with all electric guitars.
Thanks

No I don't sell connectors. I only have complete cables produced in Asia by a small factory delivering the outmost quality.
Of abt. 500 cables these guys have shipped me over the last years, only one has been faulty. It's amazing. Soldering such cable yourself is tricky stuff. I've tried it and gave up after a couple. The professional cable makers got special tools and skills. I'm waiting a response about my latest request for an order.

The stuff I get from my guy in Asia is waaaay better.
I'm producing a limited number of gold plated 13-pin cables in varying lengths.
So far I've been shipping out 420 units of these great cables since 2013 (mostly bundled with my boxes).
Since I'm out travelling most of December and January we'll probably looking at February for delivery.
Regarding the 3m/5m longer cables I'm just producing a few, and If you wish to get in line for a cable
please send an e-mail to sound@primova.se and I'll put you on the waiting list and contact you in due order as soon I can ship.
Here's the preliminary V-Guitar forums pricing without shipping cost (and without VAT 25% if inside EU).
0.5m/1.6ft Straight-Straight $10USD
1m/3.3ft Straight-Straight $12USD
3m/10ft Straight-Straight $19USD
3m/10ft Straight-Angled $19USD
5m/17ft Straight-Straight $26USD
5m/17ft Straight-Angled $26USD
Shipping cost varies with weight and number of cables, normally I ship as cheap as possible in a padded envelope (I'd guess postage is about 5-10 bucks for a cable).
Regarding the angled connector it's all new to me, but I made a few cables because I've been receiving requests for it.

I'm thinking of putting my ATG-1 & GP-10 on a big pedalboard. I'd want a 0.5m cable with angled connectors on both ends, I think. Is that a problem?
What are the choices for alignment of the right-angle connector vs. cable exit? Does it lock at 90-degree intervals?

I don't know how tricky it is to change the angle since I haven't seen them yet. I assume it's not like 1-2-3-Done.
I think I ordered them cable-going-right if locking is down, as seen from Guitarist.

I'm not sure if I'm parsing that correctly. Let me rephrase my question: If I plug the right-angle end into a GP-10, does the cable dress left or right as I look down from playing position?

Then I'd say I pray it's going to the right side looking at the GP-10 from above (reading the display properly with volume pedal at the right side).
Because that was the intended direction...
Just received some cables, both straight-straight and straight-angled.

Q: Does the Angled connector fit into a GK-3?
QuoteDoes the Angled connector fit into a GK-3?
Typically no -
due to the GK-3 female GK 13 pin jack being recessed
(https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.in2guitar.com%2Froland%2Fcontrol.jpg&hash=ba59aa13face46d2e9aa10c47abb6c4ca9e4578a)
FWIW - same hurdle as the Gittler right angle GK 13 pin cable - that will not fit a GK-3 either.

UNLESS, you put the right-angled end into something else and use the straight end into your guitar... ;)
...granted, you lose-out with neater wiring at the guitar end-of-things, but at least you get to use a decent quality cable... 8)

Been using my new 5mtr cable (straight/right angle) this week
Great cable - clean audio - no scratches or pops from movement - right angle is a real winner - it lighter than roland cable & feels well made
Happy customer (again)
Thanks Robert
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah I also own a couple of noisy expensive Roland cables (now replaced).
Agree, they are lighter and also a little bit stiffer.
The contacts work great. Pretty rock solid if I may say so.
..another happy customer with a 5-metre angled cable !
Thank you, Robert ;D
Looks like I have to produce more cables soon.
Especially the 3 meter straight-angle version has been very popular.
Not much feedback here, but I guess the cables are behaving...
Of course I want feedback even if it's good or bad. That's the only way to influence things.
Q: Is there a need also for Angled-Angled version?
Current prices:
3 meter = 19 USD (+postage)
5 meter = 26 USD (+postage)

I have five of your cables: 0.5 m, 1 m (x2), 2m and 3m. All of them have worked every time. I have had no problem whatsoever with them. Great product. Highly recommended!
CodeSmart,
I keep meaning to order from you.
I'll certainly buy 2 of the 5 meter cables from the next batch you make.
The reviews have been great.
My 3m Angle-Straight cable works great. But, it would be good if your supplier can find rubber jacketed cable to work with. I'd gladly pay a bit more to have a cable that lies flat without kinking.
My only "problem" with the cable is of my own making. My GP-10 is mounted on a rack shelf and clearance is tight around the 13-pin connector. It's very difficult to get a grip on the sliding part of the strain relief to get it out once plugged in. I'll probably end up snipping off the detent tab.

Thanks Steve, that is useful information. I also find it a but stiffer than Roland cable. But on the other hand these are silent. All my three 5 meter Roland cables crackles.
I take your input into consideration.

I can say from my own experience, that these are very good cables.
My Roland ones used to give me grief, with noise from movement and erratic pin connections.

If you are lucky, Codesmart may even deliver it personally.. ;D

I now have a lot of great Straight-Straight cables: 0.5, 1.0, 3.0 and 5.0 meter available.
I use the 1 meter and 5 meter myself in all rehearsal and live situations for the GP-10 and GR-55.
Delivered many, many hundreds the last 4 years. No worries. Rock solid at a great price.
However no Straight-Angled at this time.
There's been some issues with some of these (ground crackling noise when twisting the cable) and now evaluating the 2:nd generation using stainless steel soldering.
I'll be back on this subject when evaluated the new design approach...

you will have twice as many leads available in 1.5 and 2.5 metre lengths. ;D

Sent it Friday. Thanks.
If you can, buy 2.
Codesmart's cables are great quality, but if something happens on stage, or something else kills your cable, it's best to have a good backup available. You can't just run out to guitar center for a replacement.
For the price, it's worth the peace of mind.
One of the worst and most common things to kill your cable is when you unplug it after (or god forbid before) a gig,
and before you can pick it up, someone steps on the 13 pin plug and crushes it.
Buy 2. ;)

I think I will have enough time to get a second one before I will be using them on a regular enough basis to worry about that.
Silver Doc Maartens will kill a GK cable in one delicate stomp.

Love the cables Robert!
Stupid question: How do you release the cable lock on the angled end. I don't see a release button...
Thanks

Grab the "ring" surrounding the angled connector. When pulling, the ring moves and unlocks the thing.
Thanks Robert.
I can figure out how to use all this V guitar stuff now that I know how to plug it in... ;D ;D ;D

Hi Robert,
I tested your cables.
Excellent quality indeed!!!
Thank you very much.
Couldn't be happier :)
Anyways, if to make short/patch ANGLED-ANGLED GK cables (0.5m or 1.0m), how would you like the direction of the angles?
Of course 90 deg (suitable for GR-55, GP-10, cable goes to the right) in one end, but how about the other end? Same 90deg(cable goes right) or -90deg (cable goes left) in the other end?
I use the GKPX-14 to distribute four 13-pin signals and it can only accommodate one angled connector direction (up). Therefore a left or right angled cable would not work.
I would like to see two types of patch cables:
a) Both angled connectors in the same plane (zero degrees), with the cable in "up" direction when plugged in
b) Angled connectors at 90 degrees clockwise apart when viewed from the pin end. In other words, one end with the cable in the "up" direction, the other with the cable to right when viewing from the front of the synth case (pointing away from the box)
I have a new batch of cables in production. 3 & 5m S-S, S-A and A-A (my normal collection).
NEW!
Also making 15 pcs 0.5m A-A and 15 pcs 1.0m A-A. They default to 90deg in one end and 270deg in the other. However I can adjust angle between 0 (going up), 90(going right) or 270 (going left) as per your preference in either end.
Price not nailed yet but somewhere 17-22USD. Stainless steel soldered and gold plated.
Email sound@primova.se if you want to pre-book.

I have all of above cables back in stock.
Sorry I'll check my mail tomorrow.
Days have too few hours :P
I've been reading this thread with great interest, having just recently got back into the VG stuff after many years off..
I remember the issues with the original Roland cables, so I'm looking forward to getting an order placed for a 5m S-A cable, which will go perfectly with the internal GK kit I'm having fitted to an Ibanez RG570!
I've sent off an email, so I shall wait patiently for further instructions!
Well, that was pretty quick!
My 5m GK cable with the right angled connector has arrived. I'd had an email earlier this week confirming that my order was on the way, and fortunately my newly GK'd guitar had just returned from the workshop the day before...
I'd ordered a cheapo 13pin cable off Ebay before I spotted this thread, so I had a cable to use (and it never hurts to have a spare!)... I remembered the original Roland cables had been quite thick and unwieldy and the cheap one was certainly not as high quality as the OEM cable, but this new cable I've received from Robert is a revelation!
For starters, the cable is considerably thinner than the other two, but the real magic is that right angled plug! I had a similar head-scratching moment as I figured out the unlocking ring, but it just feels so much more secure, and with the obvious strain relief and neater appearance in use. Plus I'm less concerned about accidentally catching the plug and cable on something and damaging either the guitar or the cable in the process.
So, overall I'm a very happy customer!
The service has been top notch and the ordering process has been effortless from start to finish...
Great cables and great customer service! Highly recommended.
Cheers Richard!
Dave.

Not always superfast in response, varies with duties allocated by War Department but still I've managed to ship out 1200+ pcs GK cables since 2013 (with just a very few glitches) so they can't be too bad. ;D
Still driving an Volvo so I guess these cables will never get me into a Ford Mustang deal.
However, I could actually afford renting one for a day in Hawaii a few months ago.
And yes... I really like a Ford Mustang better than a Fender Mustang.

So where did you mount the GK-3 on the Ford Mustang? ;D Closest I came to a car like that was my old Mazda RX7. But living in the city made upkeep too expensive.

As you can see from the plates it was in the state of Hawaii (for one day only). I put the GK-3 on the exhaust pipe, but unfortunately it melted down...

Hi there,
I'm after a 5m cable with (I THINK) one plug angled at '90 deg' and one plug angled at '270 deg'
I wish to plug the '90 deg' plug in my GP10 with the lead running away from the 1/4" jacks next to the 13 pin one, as in your pics, and the other '270 deg' facing upwards to my strap knob on my left handed guitar, so as to cable tie it to my strap knob for strength, as in one of the pics attached.
Do you have one in stock this configuration, or will it be a custom made one from the chap in the US to go to you in your next delivery?
My guitar is (was) an Ibanez RG370 heavily modded, repainted and extensively routed out to accommodate the 'fit it yourself' GK-3 pickup and gubbins.
I see you are in Sweden. I am in the Canary Islands. A couple of stupid questions... Will I be paying € for it, and will it be shipped from you to me or from the US to me?
Hopefully you are still doing them.
Cheers!
(//) (//)
My angle cable just arrived. Thanks Robert. Excellent quality.
I had a moment of frustration when having plugged it in to the GC-1, it didn't want to come out. I think the sliding grip ring was rather stiff on mine. I finally figured out that if I press the back of the plug in while pulling the grip ring out, it slides up and allowed me to gently remove the plug. You probably could just pull hard on the grip ring and it would come away eventually, but I didn't want to risk that as I didn't know how it worked. Anyhow I suggest anyone ordering one should play with this ring and see how it works before plugging it in, so then it will be easy.
Thanks for the cable.
Cheers,
mczero
P.S. I was just reminded by my mate Gumbo that 2 weeks ago he told me:
"just practice operating the release mechanism a few times BEFORE you plug it into the Strat...they can be a bit stiff when new, and a pain to get the hang of..they ease up quickly though." Gulp! I forgot.
Does SA stand for Smart Ar5e or South Australia? I can never figure that out. ;)

First try cleaning the GK cable pins, and the 13 pin sockets of guitar and GR-55, with a small spray of "deOxit" contact cleaner.
Primova GK cables are highly recommended ad more reliable than the Roland oes.

I was setting up levels for my Bass today and I noticed levels when the cable was disconnected from the bass!.....out of curiosity grabbed one of primovas and nothing! (the way it should be)

Cooking more cables in production stew using the same recipe since 2013. I haven't had a complaint in many years.
Makes me wonder. Are they really immortal?

So, feedback time, tell us your story, has any of your Primova cables gone bad?
If so why and how?
My first PRIMOVA GK cable is still running with no problems, I also have a Roland GK cable I keep as a backup in my gig kit.
Tested the Roland cable last week, as it hadn't been checked for a couple of years, and it was terribly noisy...AARRRRGGGHH !!
Tossed aside the Roland cable, and packed in my last PRIMOVA spare as a backup,
not worried about the GK cable failing, more if someone stands on the plug end before I plug it in.
I'm still giggin my old Primova GK cable, no issues

Me too.... ;)
I've had mine for a few years without a problem. Very solid product. I even bought a couple of spares that I've never had to use. I tested them when I received them, and they have been in the box ever since.
Ordered one about a week ago. Looking forward to getting it. It's an angled one for the GP-10.

I have about five of them at different length. No issues with any of them. All my Roland cables do have issues and I never use them anymore.
Have 4, but have only had to use the one
One of my long cables is rumbly, but I don't know how long I've had it. It's been quite a while since I purchased cables from you, I think.... My impressions remain positive. I am not easy on the cables because I now have a small pile of cables from you, and I'm not worried.
Also, we must consider that the jack, possibly filthy in my damp southeast USA climate, needs cleaning again. Since I play the VG-99, I am unwilling to clean that jack often. Feels risky. The rumble might be that. It is summer here.
Received mine. Everything seems great with it. Really love the 90 degree for the GP-10.
Just found myself with a handful of 0.5m angled 90/270 degrees short cables if anyone needs a tight pedalboard. 90=going to the right, 270=going to the left. Also these cables can be modded to go 180 degrees (downwards). Just let me know at sound@primova.se
I'm currently talking to my cable factory to see if they have time helping us out with patch-length (1.0 meter) TSR A2B cables for the GKC-AD units.

Cool, but I think a third of a meter (1 ft) would be better

Yes maybe you're right. Or 1.5ft (0.5m). If it's shorter some people people with 2-tier pedalboards and wants to hide the converter underneath somewhere could be in trouble.
Yes, definitely a shorter cable to hook DA converter with SY-1000!
FYI: I'm producing a new batch of my GK-cables and have added a new configuration "1 meter Straight-Angled(90 deg)".
As always I may modify the standard angle 90 to 0,180,270 on request.
I could use 2- 6inch or less 90Degree cables
