Boss Katana 50 - Driver Install Issues Win10 64

     Hello, having an issue with my brand new Katana 50 and hopefully someone could shed some light.  I initially checked my version and there were no lights, so I preceded to install driver.  My laptop will not recognize the katana, nor does it automatically install the driver.  I've done all the troubleshooting listed in the readme.htm, but to no avail.  I have a Win10 64 laptop, USB 2 cord and it's plugged into a USB 2 port.  I disabled driver signature enforcement,  tried different ports, went into device manager (wasn't listed anywhere), etc.  Anyone have any advice?

Must install the latest FW 2.02 - its only been out 6 weeks

The Firmware update must be installed first !!!
The driver will not recognise a firmware 1 Katana.

Ok, I just tried that...didn't work.  My laptop doesn't recognize the katana and the boss drive window doesn't automatically pop up.  Nowhere on the computer, does it show I have a USB device connected.  In my experience with other devices....u need to have the device recognizable, before a firmware update.

(The LED indicators for the [CH1] ~ [CH4] buttons all flash.
Hint: This puts the Katana Amps into a USB Class compliant Storage device mode - to accept Katana firmware update files, and act like a "USB storage Drive" to your PC/Mac.

the katana is seen as a USB memory stick type device where the two firmware files are dropped into.

Anyone running on a Win 10 64 laptop?  Any other ideas?  .....looks like I'll have to ship to Boss for service

Did the Katana, when powered on in Firmware update mode, show as a memory device in your Windows 10 laptop?
I am assuming that happened and you initiated the firmware update process, and after about 2~3 minutes of updating, all updated well?
But now your Windows 10 laptop still does not recognise the Katana ?

Katana didn't show up, when in firmware update mode.  I just let things go for 10-15mins, still nothing.  Katana doesn't show up in device manager, or in a device search or anywhere else.

Do you have a different windows computer handy to try?
Win 7 maybe.

Different USB cable as admsustainiac suggested.

If all above still fail, then time to get the Katana checked out.

They need to make sure they install the "Windows Creators Update". Then the PC will "see" the Katana. This DEFINITELY works.

I am running Win 10 64 1709 Fall creators update, I installed it the day it came out Nov27th ish 2017.  Computer doesn't "see" Katana.  I emailed Boss about the issue I'm having, they'll be back Jan 2 from vacation.  I ordered a new usb2 cord as well.  I guess we'll see how it goes.

Update - long story short.....everything works!  Went threw all the troubleshooting with Boss tech, nothing worked and they wanted me to ship to Cali.  Cheapest shipping quote I could get was $95 insured, so I did some more digging before going that route.  Tried 2 brand new cords before, but I found a very old Belkin cord yesterday........it worked hahaa!  So yea, I think it was the cords lol!  Weird.....the 2 brand new cords did work by connecting my printer to my laptop, but didn't with the Katana50.  Same result with a different computer.
