Hi i have a gt001 and a rc300 can i switch patches on the gt by assigning a foot switch on the rc300 to the gt it might be a stupid question  , but i thought maybe worth finding out cheers paul

The RC-300 has to issue a standard midi patch change command, which usually only happens if the RC-300 were to change patch itself.

hi gumtown thanks for your reply ,I am not clued up on midi at all , but by what you say there is a way it could be done , say if I had a empty patch on the rc300 and used that maybe

Yes I think that will work.
How do you have them connected?
Since the GT-001 has no midi ports, you will need to use a computer or other device.
If you connect through a computer, you will need a midi routing program like "midi-yoke & midi-Ox" to join the midi devices together.

well to be honest I did think on the rc300 back it has a 2  sockets ctrl1.2/exp and ctrl 3.4 exp and a exp pedal input on the gt001 , I guess I was assuming the signal maybe worked both ways so if I ran a lead say from rc300 ctl 1.2 exp to the gt001   exp in and some how configured them talking to each other , it may work

I would think not, how would the GT-001 and RC-300 transfer midi data through a foot switch input plug?
You will need the units to communicate via the RC-300 midi port and the GT-001 USB port, using an adapter device such as a computer, Raspberry Pi micro computer, or a MIDX-20 device which converts the GT-001 USB to midi port.
