Nope, I don't get it. There's no mention of manuals in that (two item) thread.
Colin's post is dated Reply #2 on: 2019-01-23, 00:34:02 » so why would it show up today? It's not a post that I've marked unread - I've not seen it before.

There have been constant behind the scene maintenance and security patches applied  - and often this explains 9  month old messages popping up as "new unread message"

Myself I check this link several times a day

Roland /Boss could care less if we cease operations tomorrow ( they probably prefer we go away) claiming the ZenDesk help system is where we should all be anyway

I checked out that link and a RC300 tip.

Only one comment posted where the guy asked a question about freeze up that requires him to cycle the power.

That was 3 years ago and no answer was provided by Roland support.

Does Roland really believe that it is they who are providing the internet product support?

Regarding the original question...  A little bit of behind the scenes, but explainable...

There were, in fact, updates to that thread.  Yesterday, there were 4 posts in that thread.  Since then, two posts on that thread were deleted.  (The two last posts discussed dead links for Roland EU...  I think someone was cleaning stuff up...)

The two posts were updated (flagged as deleted), which is why they show up as recent activity.  But you don't have access to the "deleted items" board, so you can't see it...   ::)

Yes, I would count that as a bug with the forum software.  If the update was a deletion, which you can't see, it shouldn't show up as "unread" to you.
Address the process rather than the outcome.  Then, the outcome becomes more likely.   - Fripp
