sorry i am a noob here but did a ton of searching for the answer to this question and can't find anything here or on google in general.  has anyone figured out setting/effects (multiple if needed) put together to create a feedback controller like the FREQOUT?  I just got my gr55 last week and building all my patches and stuff.
thanks

I was just last night creating a feedback patch, used two PCM synth tones "206 Distorted Guitar Feedback1" and "208 Distorted Guitar Harmonics".
Then in the PCM synth Filter settings, adjusted both the synth "TVA Attack" up to +25 to +30 o create a slow volume rise in the tone so it plays only after a sustained note.

In addition to gumtowns awesome suggestions you have a Guitar Feedbacker 2 as well. You can look to the Velocity curves for the physical shape of the response of the feedback as well as many controls to apply it(page 25 in the manual). For example you can have it come on quick and control it with the expression pedal. Fast curve to implement and you control the effect. Since you have more than one you can program one to be first with another on top of it. You also have control over the pitch of the feedback from fine to octaves. That means below the tone, over the tone etc. Lastly a compressor can also add to this when you push it and control the level for the fundamental whether its a crispy clean tone or crunchy it can add sustain and feedback.

Look to controlling the unit internally as well as with midi so you can expand your mind up front on the possibilities that are ahead. Imagine what you want to do and then figure out how to do it, because you have so many options.

Thanks so much for this!!  So since i dont really know all the synth stuff i was turning knobs and figuring stuff out that i ended up getting what i was looking for 95%.  using the exp pedal to swell just a bit of volume and the feedback comes in slowly and sustains for a while.  My only 5% is that once my signal dies it cuts out and I cant figure out how to have it continue on until i decide to pull back exp pedal to 0 volume?  It did it for a while but then i changed settings again to get the correct tones I was looking for and it went away.  How do I sustain the sound longer?  I turned the bottom gains (velocity etc.) all the way to 50+ but still cuts out.  also the NG doesn't appear to be running through the synths as i dialed that all the way back to see and that didnt effect anything either.  Is there another gate on the synths i dont know about?

Reading this again (sorry I missed it) you are saying to try the compressor settings (add comp to the patch). To get more sustain.  I will try this tonight. Thank you!

Welcome to the Forum, I'm not a big effects person, or should I say , I wasn't one, until a decade ago when I studied recording engineering. So now I apply it where I can , but this was a Randy Hanson trick from his rig rundown, he is the leading Hendrix tribute performer. He turned me on to this technique where he uses a pedal in his board for this purpose. The guy is increadible and his approach just works perfect. I was on the other side of the fence, Marshall stacks guitar into Vibe, Wah , FF etc and go for it with pretty good results. Randy goes Hendrix 2000 with great success. You will do good with this box and eventually learn all the programming and control tweaks over time. Just keep thinking what it is you want to do and go for it. Get stuck, ask us, we have alot of luck overcoming just about everything and then some !
