Best editing solution for GR-50?

I'm keen to try to create new patches for my new new GR-50, but I'm finding it very hard to work out the best way to go about it. What are the best tools in your experience, and the best method?

Looks like I might have to answer my own question! 

I've got a PG-10 on the way - so hopefully it's my best solution. I'll let you know...
