Hi there!

This is how I feel this fantastic algorithm called "Zero Crossing", and how I like to play it.
I found GP-10 is far better simulation of GR-300 than in the VG-99, better defined.

Please find my favorite 3 GR-300 patches - all pretty simple and raw, this is how I like it.

Regards!

Thanks!

I uploaded this track again with a higher gain, it was too quiet.

I'm thinking about to add the Moog MF-101 analog 12/24dB LPF to the signal path.
Now my path is as follows:

Carvin DC-127 -> Sustainiac -> GK3a -> GP-10 -> Boss FV-500L -> Lexicon MPX-1

The outboard GR-300 Sim filtering is unusable for me, because of a poor 7-bit resolution.

Anyone tried a GP-10 (or a real GR-300 :-)) and the MF-101?

Explain? What device is 7bits?

Controlling of any parameter by the expression pedal (whatever, built-in GP-10 or the external one) has always 7-bit resolution.
I can hear the quantum character of the "continuous" controller, I believe you too.
Use of the analog volume pedal instead of built-in FV provides a huge difference.

That's the nature of  MIDI CC# control and yes its limited to 7 bit resolution

Agreed!

Right, however, between the inside algorithms and the expression pedal (specially when build-in), there is no need to use a MIDI protocol.
Resolution would be of any level that programmer want / cpu can process. 16-bit is pretty enough for our ears as the volume or cutoff, 7-bit always hurts :-)

Love that - very nicely done! The GR-300 emulation is my favourite thing about the GP-10 and I enjoy mixing it with real analogue synths too. :)

Thanks :-)

I love the GR-300 too, in my opinion this is the only algorithm, that is so direct to the string, that feels very natural.
I'm thinking about to buy the real GR-300, and I hope, Roland do one day the GR-300 V2...
Specially, that this zero-crossing algorithm has even more potential - beside Saw OSC, we could have also Pulse, reverse Saw should be easy to do also, as well as Triangle.
