What if any upgrade in sound quality will I get over the Griffin by changing to something like the Line 6 sonic port vx or iRig pro?

Ps, must be able to charge iPad which was reason for buying the Griffin at the time
Currently running JAmup etc through a mUstang GT 40 in stereo

Thanks

The StudioConnect has relatively clean analog preamp , but the A/D and D/A conversion is only 16 bit = more noise compared to a 24 bit interface

Thanks, but apart from maybe less noise will the tones sound better?

You probably will not notice any major sonic improvement

the  Griffin Studioconnect is a decent interface - but using it with Guitar Amp simulators reveals the added noise floor of the 16 bit A/D & D/A in the  Griffin Studioconnect vs- compared to a good 24 bit interface.

the iRig HD was recommended up until 2015, then  Apple screwed up all iPhones by removing the headset jack  - rendering many 24 bit guitar interfaces useless for new iphones ( iRig HD, Apogee JAM)
( current Apple regime does not understand live musicians needs )

Due to high latency, Bluetooth is useless for live ipad guitar processing use.
