Good Morning.....

Just curious, I was wondering as I searched the net for other places to retrieve TSL Patches for the Boss SY-300...
I came across a site..( empyreanfx*com ) that sells patches for several modules including the Boss SY-300 and are also available for purchase on eBay!  That said,  I am only interested in the Boss-SY-300 and noticed that they advertise some 280+ patches for $12.00 for the BossSY-300 as either a download or cd-r purchase.  I've been trying to get hold of the people or person in charge via email on eBay and web site but to no avail.  I haven't gotten a response as of yet as it's been 2-3 emails over the past 3 weeks.  The site looks to be fully functional and I'm aware that they will not sell to Canada which is where I reside but have no idea why it even makes a difference if I can purchase to download.....

Any information would be greatly appreciated... I figure it would be another great resource to share patches !

He joined here , downloaded all the patches and now does business reselling and profiting from the efforts of others with no attribution to his original source -vguitarforums

The SY could always benefit from more user created patches. Which is one the things that makes this place great. What the seller in this case is doing is absolute bullsh!t.  >:(

"That Guy"   >:( also has the audacity to link my email address as customer support,
I always get irate customers emailing me about "that CD I brought from you",  ???
and I have a standard response about the situation (how he profits from selling my editor software)
and go talk to the seller. (insert emoji of middle finger pointing upward here).

The ideal of buying patch's (to me) is like having a session musician play your gear for you,
Ok to get a patch to 'see how that sound works', but I think many would benefit more from tutorials on sound creation.
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

We encourage folks to learn how to program their own patches for their specific needs. The fast track to learning is to review how others accomplished these tasks.

But I encourage all members to contact Ebay and inform them of the fraudulent seller "empyreanfx"

How true, everything you say !

Well, I've got about 5 patches I made my own but I see great patches on here by most and they are great...I should put them out, see what people think of them :)

Thanks

Would eBay itself be interested in what this person is doing?

There's also a guy from Spain doing the same thing. I sent both of them messages asking them if the patches came from the forum.

My question;

Hello, are these VG 99 and gr55 patches the same ones that are available online for free at vguitarforums?

Here's the reply below that I got from eBay seller 'bia_5007'.

Maybe it's lost in translation but the wording seems to imply that vguitarforum members got Patches from his disc and posted them on the forum.

"New message from: bia_5007 (740Purple Star)
yes. Many of that site came from the disk. you will not find anything new"

Reminds me of when we caught a co-worker stealing property. - a Fluke 8060A Multimeter

his reply to my boss :

Quote"I already Own a Fluke 8060A Meter  - Why would I steal one of those?"

Sadly this is all too common.  I know my patches are being sold somewhere online as original content by someone.  Nothing I can do about that except laugh.
My music projects online at http://www.aliensporebomb.com/

GK Devices:  Roland VG-99, Boss GP-10, Boss SY-1000.

Dude is likely not getting rich doing this. It's a double whammy of idiocy - you steal something, and the item you steal only makes you pocket money...  :P

He does have significant number of products for sale

Over 200 items on his Ebay Store  - probably works a few hours each week running fresh CD-R copies in his CD Burner

And here's the reply from emptyreamFX to my question;

"New message from: empyreanfx  Top Rated Seller(540Purple Star)
We're not currently affiliated with any guitar forums. Thanks for your interest."

That response seems to be a classic deflection. Most likely cuz he ripped off this forum.

It's evil, but like all evil, cannot exist without good. If our ideas proliferate, that is intrinsically good. (I don't mean the person is evil, just that the deed is morally not good, but I don't judge the person).

Other thoughts to consle yourself: People who just benefit from my creativity will only ever be in my wake... There's plenty more where that came from... I wasn't gonna get paid anyway... his worst punishment is being himself 24/7 (that type of behavior infects all relationships)... my clean, giving conscience is part of my art, and helps set me free...Maybe he's on a journey, going through a rebellious phase, rock on dude, you'll figure it out, just try to follow the truth... Maybe he has an uninsured mom with cancer and he's desperate to buy her Christmas Shoes....
electric: Epiphone Dot semihollow body, acoustic: mahogany jumbo, recording: Cubase Artist 11 or Tascam DP008

I develop my patches with no expectations about what may come of them in the future. You may like 'em or lump 'em, I can't do anything about that. I hope they are helpful to others and they sure were fun for me to make.
It's a shame that they are resold with no credit or compensation to the original authors, but that happens with music too. It's a bit weasley perhaps but the guy doing it clearly isn't a Captain of Industry. He's more like a vendor in China selling ripped-off DVDs of Star Wars in a corner stall.

I have better things to do with my time and attention then chase nickels or acknowledgement from these kinds of guys. I don't think of him as EVIL, sleazy may be a better word.

You get out of life what you put into it. This much, I have learned.

What if we posted ourselves as a group at half their prices and donated the money to this site?  8)

And here's the response from The New Guy when I asked the question.

Hello are these patches that are on your CD the same patches that are available for free at vguitarforums? Or are these new patches?

consistent verbiage of the reply - despite Ebay claiming

Ebay Seller "paradisess" is located in Spain
https://www.marketplacepulse.com/ebay/usa/paradisess

and

Ebay Seller "emptyreamFX" is located in Evansville, Indiana, United States
https://www.marketplacepulse.com/ebay/usa/empyreanfx

The interesting thing is that it appears  that seller "paradisess (237Turquoise Star)" is a new name or just another name for seller "bia_5007 (740Purple Star)" who is ripping patches from the site.
