No Footswitch LEDs Lighting

I'm new here. Just got a new-in-the-box SY-1000. I searched the site for my issue and had no luck so I'm hoping for some help. My issue: none of the foot switch LEDs light up (pressed or unpressed). I've tried Memory and Manual mode, tweaking settings in the Control UI (tried system and patch settings, auto colours, specific colours). I'm waiting for my GK cable so I'm only using the SY-1000 in normal input mode.

Thanks. Good advice. I should have mentioned in my original post that I tried that. No luck. I just tried it again for good measure. Still no luck.

New or used unit ?
Did you try to set CONTROL ASSIGN Parameters > LED COLOR off and exit the menu , go back in and set to a color  / system and or auto color ?

Roland Canada and the retailer, Long and McQuade, are replacing the SY-1000.
