Upon release of SY-1000 Jan 2020,  The page for Boss GP-10 used to say "Discontinued"

Based on today's query, that has changed

I confirm that also on the Italian Web site it says buy now and you can search for dealers in the country.
So... can it be that the chip crunch made them 'rediscover' GP10 or simply it was called back for enhance Sales?
It is listed in the page in good company with Guitar Synths : SY-1, SY-200, SY-300, SY-1000 and Eurus. Odd isn't it?

That was not the case 2 years ago

It's possible Boss located inventory of AKM CODEC ICs and due to economy and dealer demand-GP-10 is back in production

They do list Boss GP-10 as "under testing" for Apple M1/Monterey compatibility

Well, I'll be a monkey"s uncle.
Never seen obsolete gear make a comeback.
They must have realized the price tag was a bit steep for entry into the GK world.

Just run your GP10 Editor on Apple Silicon via Rosetta :-) that's mind reading.

i wish the gp-10 editor would install on windows 11 :(

Also I don't think it was ever discontinued. Sellers were still selling them. As I bought a brand new one 2 months ago from a local music store and boss dealer. Unless these were just stuff left behind.

As the product has become current, maybe someone at BOSS is coding for that.....

Likewise entire pre 2020 Roland/Boss editors that use Adobe AIR

They post which Boss  units will receive Win11 updates here

SY-1000 editor installed for me on windows 11, but I haven't tested it yet. But gp-10 and sy-300 won't even install.

Wouldn't we freak out if Boss actually came out with an update for the GP10!

I figure its 60% likely - perhaps to accomodate new flash ram I2S address - to keep production lines flowing with different vendor components

Like they did for GT-1000 recently
QuoteVer.3.15 ] DEC 2021
The version number has been updated due to management-related circumstances.
Product specifications are unaffected.

I don't see that happening. They can't give us new stuff for sy-1000, I doubt they will for something that is 8 years old.

I wonder if Adrian Belew's talking up of his adoption of the GP-10 might have something to do with it.  He recently posted on his facebook page about the VG-99 and that he's been using the GP-10 of late.  I recommended he check out the SY-1000.  We'll see if he takes me up on my recommendation.

Boss can't monitor this place, I doubt they're monitoring him :P lol. However he's very wrong about the gp-10 having a lot of the same stuff that the vg-99 has. The gp-10 is like only 20% to 30% capable of what the vg-99 can do. Not saying the gp-10 is bad at all. It's a very nice unit and I think quite different enough sound wise from the vg-99.

Several years ago, not long after the GP10 was out, I was at a clinic with him at Sweetwater, and the next day, ran into him in the main showroom, and then told him that for what he mainly used the VG99 for, ie tunings, guitar modeling, he could replace both his VG99 and his Digitech pitch shifter, his "impossible" pedal, with the new GP10. So he asked them to get one for him to check out. He had previously spoke about downsizing his rig, during the previous day's clinic, which is why I told him about it.

So it's your fault!   Hopefully it will be my fault he moves to an SY-1000.  Or uses all 3 if he was really wanting to do something cool.

Very interesting. I was looking at my poor old GP-10 gathering dust in the corner and wondering about it's fate. I'd like the option to use the GP-10's audio/MIDI over USB on an M1 mac. Bring on a USB driver and updated BTS editor!
