I just started giging with my GT1 into a Headrush FRFR 108 then output to the PA via XLR. My problem is is that the signal into the PA is extremely hot and the gain has to be at near zero on the PA console. I am trying to troubleshoot where my signal is too hot. Currently I am running my GT1 out via 1/4 inch mono signal into the headrush, then the headrush to the PA with an XLR cable.

I have the output setting on the GT1 set to headphones, and the patch level is about 130. I'm wondering if I need a direct box into the headrush or if I need an XLR attenuator coming out of the headrush into the PA.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thank you in advance.

Be sure you are feeding  PA with its preamp set to LINE IN (not Mic In)

You need an extra attenuator in the XLR  to the PA. -20 dB  should do it.

Or a DI between the GT-1 and PA.

Or... GT-1 > DI > desk input > desk monitor/aux output > headrush.
And have guitar + band mix in your speaker.

turn down the patch level 130 is way to high

I gigged it straight to PA a handful of times, and into random onstage guitar combo amps a couple dozen times now.
130 is way too high.

Thank you for the comments. I got a 20db attenuator and will also reduce the GT1 patch levels... But our Gigs Just got postponed until the spring so I won't be able to test for a while. I will post here when I figure it out.

To close the loop here, I finally gigged again this weekend and the attenuator solved the problem.  I also dropped the patch levels to around 100.....hope this helps someone,
