Hi VGuitar Forums;
Im sure this type of thing has been asked before, so Im sorry to repeat it, and am happy to search if you know the subjects/headings...

Questions about the GR55 & GR20 (and even GP10??):

1. Can external Sound modules be connected to the GR's (GP) via the MIDI I/O to run the sounds contained within such an external unit?
2. If so, how does one interact with say, selecting each of the patches contained within the external unit? Do they appear in a special category on the GR display or what??
3. What units would anyone recommend - given that I know almost zero about buying synth stuff. Im aiming for very small portable compact units if possible. I'd prefer NOT to go DAW in a laptop or iPad since I dont really trust bootable devices too much in live situations although I KNOW its a way of life for musicians.
4. My primary interest in terms of external sounds is retro or analogue synth/KBs - as far back 70s Moogs, Rhodes, synths, EPs, voices, washes, etc - but nice quality, also realistic samples of ethnic instruments, such as sitar, tabla, veenya, tamboora, sarangi, erhu, etc.
Also if available various other synth sounds - such as those in say the Axon, Synclavier, Fairlight, etc...that were used by guitar synth users John Mclaughlin, Pat Metheny etc.

thanks for any leads or suggestions - 2nd hand gear, if compatible is also welcomed as suggestion!
