This gk3.. looks like a gk2a.

and my old gk3 looked like this:

Can somebody to explain me why mine looks like a gk2a?

thank you

Looks the same - apart from paint rubbed off pole pieces

well,
yes looks the same but
if i good rememeber,
ths gk2a has a thin profile than gk3.
This gk3 that i have looks like based on gk2a,
maybe as the gk3 internal kit, there is an old version which is based on gk2a..
maybe somebody can explain me something more.

You Own both 12 hole (PIC #1) and 6 hole (Pic #2)  versions

read this thread - there are a few variations on the GK-3 Hex PU

GK-3 - 12 holes or 6 holes on Divided PU.

TOP:  A GK-2A type - narrower pole pieces and no curvature adjustment.

MIDDLE: A GK-3 type - your usual external mount GK.

BOTTOM: A GK-KIT internal mount type - notice the wiring exits the back instead of the side.
A regular GK-3 pickup has the solder points and holes to change to back wiring.

Thank you
so if i understand my Gk3 has the pickup like a Gk2a, more thin, of course adjustable,
and "the magnets on the 12 hole ones are much stronger than the 6 hole version".

Thank you.
