GR-55FloorBoard linux version is built and runs well on Ubuntu,
but will run on any flavor of linux which runs X window system (x11) and ALSA midi sub-system.

Thanks for the help here - I have chickened out and reinstalled Vista back onto the laptop now. Thanks again.

I was never able to get it to run on Ubuntu 12.04.  There are library requirements (QT5) that I could not find debs for and a missing QT setup utility that I was also unable to resolve.  Spent a lot of time hacking at it and getting nowhere.  Finally threw in the towel and installed on a Win 7 VMware VM where it Just Works.

Not complaining though - this is a brilliant bit of work.  I put my money where my mouth is and contributed to Gumtown's efforts and would encourage anyone who finds it useful to do so.

Was not aware of a Linux Qt lib issue, quite possible one was left out of the package, I will look into it.
The program should run 'out of the box' without any additional dependancies required.

FWIW -

When i download the GR-55 Floorboard Linux file and open in WinRar, I get this error report:

(should state I'm on Win7 - just unarchiving the tar.gz with WinRaR)
