VG-88 Is there any particular reason why there is no VG-88 section here anymore?

Just interested. Seems to me that quite a lot of people are still using them.

Not sure what the VG to the far right is in the original image, but I thru this together real quick.

The dark grey one is the VB-99 (bass version of the VG-99).
I think to many units layout like that looks a bit 'cluttered', maybe if they were diagonally overlayed/stacked by year of manufacture, or none of the above and a VG guitar (GK equiped) instead.

Or, an animated GIF type one were the different models circulate across..

I'll see what I can come up with in that way and post a new on.

Glad to see there is still interest in the VG-88.  I still use mine all the time as a different flavor for recording.  I love it, and am still coming up with better sounds for it.  Love the stealthy black all metal form factor too.

It really comes alive for me when I put it through a software compressor.  That Abbey Road model that's based on the one the Beatles had in their old EMI four track mixer does wonders for warming it up.  Takes that digital cold edge right off.

So do some of the SoftTube designed comps in Guitar Rig 5.

I was thinking that Roland really NEEDS to put a nice warm vintage output stage in their next guitar box.  They have some very nice models already in my Edirol USB mixer.

Thanks, seems to make sense to have a place for such valuable info here.

I started on this last night. Changed the V in VGuitarforums to an inverted Flying-V with a GK-3 on it.

Curious - which model Edirol mixer is that?

It's the Edirol M-16DX.  What a fantastic little mixer.  There isn't anything else out there quite like it.  I think it listed for around $700 and I got it new for $240, because no one was buying them.  If you see one grab it :)
