So how good is the pitch shifting Vs GP-10?

For those who have both- how do they compare?

ATG-1 is far superior to GP-10 for pitch-shifted and doubled (12-string) sounds.  Unfortunately, it's physically too large for any stage we play and the conventional guitar voices (e.g. strat, les-paul) are really not all that convincing.  In a perfect world, Roland would license the Antares pitch-shift algorithm, combine it with COSM modeling and introduce a killer new "GP-20".

I think we touched on their biggest prob earlier in the week, when someone said that it's the name "Auto-Tune" that killed its chances with guitar playing customers. Every time I mentioned it in around other guitarists, they pretty much all screwed up their faces like you'd just squirted 'em with lemon juice.

Gotta think of a name that doesn't have "auto" in it.
