Can anyone explain what these do versus the overall Scene Level and Part Levels? I'm not exactly sure how to set them. Should the Scene Level and Part Level Pedal Positions be set to 100 (out of 100) and have the the Scene Level and Part Level be set to taste (out of 127).

I'm not sure what they actually do?

Thanks

Part level = individual level for each part

Scene level = like a master volume, level for the entire scene / all parts

Pedal pos level =  is for when someone is using an expression pedal to control the level

I get that but in the assigns I just use the tone levels for the parts and have them controlled by the exp pedal. Isn't that effectively the same thing?

I'm just trying to understand what the scene and part level pedal position do that can not be accomplished via the scene and tone level. They must be duplicative for a reason and just not getting it.

Yeah but why take all that time to set it up via assigns and use those spots when you can just go to menu then control assign then control function and assign exp 1 or exp 2 to scene pedal pos and make it "system" and it'll do that for any preset.

Scene Pedal Pos also works with the volume on gk-2a and gk3 pickups.

Ah. That makes sense. But I guess its default setting should be 100 as anything else would be limiting the output volume for the  patch. (I had a number of them at lower levels - not sure how - and that explained why the patch volume was so low)

Using tone levels in the assign matrix however is a good example if you wanna morph parts together and such.

Like if you had part 3 and part 4 at full volume when expression pedal is at the heel position, but you wanna bleed part 1 and part 2 into part 3 and part 4 so you assign those and when you step on expression pedal and rock it forward to toe position you now have part 1 and 2 joining in with part 3 and 4 etc.. Take it a step further and assign part 3 and 4 to back off volume when part 1 and 2 comes in and you got something else etc..

Many things can be done!

Yes!! I use that all the time. The GR55 had a heel/toe setting to make that easier but yes it is flexible!!!
