This mean they stop doing their propriatory USB thing?
It's USB MIDI compliant?
But I got more gear than I need...and I like it!

Bluetooth !!
for IOS and Android BTS

I would imagine the regular Boss Tone Studio for Win and Mac will still use USB.
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

at first look seems like a nice app - I like that when you edit a parameter it switches to a large view, makes quick accurate changes very easy
The last boss demo of the GT1000 which just plays sounds for 10 mins peeked my interest in the unit, upto that point pretty much everything was just traditional guitar sounds

The GT-1000 remains NOT USB Class compliant.

They will release remote bluetooth editors for IOS and Android , but those will use a special handshake to initiate communications with the GT-1000

QuoteThe hardware is still in initial delivery stages so there is probably a lot of headroom for future enhancements. I haven't used this with the unit yet, so this is for initial release in offline mode only.

App needs a landscape mode. Badly. The signal chain flows horizontally which really begs a landscape view.

Stompbox settings are ignored. Writing from/copying to preset aha no affect. Stompbox titles are not stored.

"Parametric" is spelled "Prametric" in the EQ block.

Haven't figured out how to open a preset downloaded from Tone Central. You can download the libraries, but not open any of the presets in he editor.

The basic UI seems fairly ergonomic and intuitive. I look forward to a fully functional version. The ability to edit and control the GT-1000 with an untethered iPhone or iPad with a color multi-touch screen will be very welcome.

Funny how this is released before the katana air Bluetooth app. I'm guessing they're essentially cookie cutter apps so I'm curious how much somebody can reverse engineer them to figure out a Bluetooth midi host for the regular katana amps.

For those curious - the GT-1000 Bluetooth profile does not support wireless Bluetooth audio I/O

Boss Tone Studio for IOS uses only MIDI Control over Bluetooth, no wireless Audio

Got my iPad Pro 12.9" tablet connected and running Boss Tone Studio for GT-1000 (IOS)
A bit lame it only runs in Portrait mode and scaled large for iPhone only

(Hope they eventually create a version that works in lanscape mode for iPad)
1st order of business is Import and save my FW1.04  Factory presets, but taking a long time , around 50 minutes to complete.

Ver. 1.2 iOS

The good new is: Ver 1.2 on the iOS enables landscape mode.
The bad new is: landscape mode doesn't show any more graphics than portrait mode did.

Portrait:

Landscape

What the hell?  A standard iPad has a 2048 x 1536 LCD screen.  Why did they design the iOS interface with low-res graphics that are reminiscent of a 30 year old VGA screen.  I love the fact that its possible to edit the GT-1000 via Bluetooth on an iPad, but Boss could put way more information onto the screen than they did.

I really hate unnecessary scrolling.  Its like reading a book through a piece of paper with a 2" square hole cut in it that you have to move about each page.  At the very least, they should put the wasted space to use.  They could easily display 3x as much of the chain without making the graphics so small that its difficult to use.  Maybe something like this...

The same goes for the effects pages.  Instead of four pages of this....

Why not keep it simple and put all the parameters on one page like this...

I really like editing patches using Tone Studio on my computer.  Its okay with iOS, but if Boss would improve the interface, I think it could be great.  The Bluetooth interface is one big edge that Boss has over the Helix. They should take advantage of it with a killer app.

I thought this meant that you had to connect to the GT-1000/GT-1000Core with bluetooth to use the app, but you can connect using a MIDI adapter, like the UM-ONE.

If you are using a wave pedal, it can really slow the app down, it can take a very long time to load all the data from a patch when you switch to a new patch if it is using most of the MIDI bandwidth to send the data that is being changed by the wave pedal.  I guess not so surprisingly, if you slow the wave pedal down, the patch data will load quicker.  It will load a lot quicker if you turn the wave pedal off.
