Anyone know the neck pocket specs of the JTV-89? I cannot stand the downward tuners, and I would really prefer larger frets. I really like a 10-16 radius with extra large stainless frets. So I thought about getting a Warmoth neck for it. Is the neck pocket the same as a Strat? I've seen guys slap a strat neck on the JTV-69s... BUT those are strat copies so that makes sense. Don't know which direction to go in for an 89 neck.

The Variax 89F I own has the neck pretty much similar to a Jackson D2KM I have and an Ibanez of a friend. But the screws te hold the body and neck together are in different positions.

The best approach, I think, is you to disassemble your 89 neck, make a drawing and take notes of the dimensions... then have a look at: http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/faq2.aspx

Warmoth replacement necks are usually not compatible with Jackson or Ibanez... So you'll probably be out of luck with that company...

If you find a replacement neck that comes without the hole for the screws, you could make the holes yourself...
