Hi, I like to watch you tube tutorial videos whilst playing my guitar but I have found with the Katana, it disables my computer speakers and I get no sound from the videos.

When I look in the volume mixer, the Katana has taken over the primary & secondary sound and if I disable them and go back to my speakers, Boss Tone Studio disconnects from the amp.

This is not a good situation for me so has anyone else experienced this and is there a way around it please?

If your using tone studio, your not actually playing guitar 😁
Only one ASIO audio device can be used at once, a software called asio4all might help, but I'm not sure if it  will support two clients at the same time.
The alternative is to use KatanaFxFloorBoard editor, as it only uses midi, and does not require use of the audio device parts.
So YouTube and PC speakers can run happily while the fxfloorboard editor does it's stuff.
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

KATANA: BOSS TONE STUDIOS - How to Monitor Player with Speaker

If you'd like to monitor the BOSS TONE STUDIOS audio Player through your KATANA speaker rather than the HEADPHONE OUTPUT.

In BOSS TONE STUDIOS, located in the bottom right of the user interface there is a SYSTEM TAB.

Click SYSTEM TAB - select DEVICE - select DETAIL - set the following:

MIDI IN: KATANA
MIDI OUT: KATANA

AUDIO IN:
Change from PRIMARY(KATANA) to SECONDARY (KATANA)
AUDIO OUT: leave empty
PRESS OK - the CONNECTION WINDOW will then re-open/appear - then select and PRESS CLOSE.

Now return to the PLAYER and push PLAY on the TRACK you'd like to monitor or hear through the KATANA SPEAKER. NOTE: Make sure the KATANA AMP MASTER VOLUME is set low before pressing PLAY.

IMHO  - ASIO4ALL can be a blessing or a curse . In the past Ive had to do a System Restore and manual edit my Windows registry to rid myself of ASIO4ALL because after trying to use it, and seeing no positive benefit, it often broke something else in my Windows Music DAW / video editing  computer I use to run Boss Tone Studio.

Its important to understand the ASIO Driver spec , and realize Roland / Boss ASIO USB Drivers for Windows are NOT MULTI-CLIENT , meaning they are designed for running only one Roland / Boss ASIO Audio device for all Audio Input and Audio Output from your Windows PC  at same time.

Other manufacturers ( Fender, RME) provide mutli- client ASIO drivers - these support using a different physical device as ASIO Audio Input, and separate physical device as ASIO Audio Output.

It helps that I once had a full time day job as Audio / MIDI Technical Director for a major LA (Venice) post production house ( Steve Dewey and Machine Head - 1995-1997)  making Super Bowl TV commercials with six 48 track Audio / Video Sound design editing suites  - I had to know my stuff, else a replacement would be found in the competitive LA media production industry.

But I read product manuals to unwind, not a big video gamer.

Greetings,
I found this post when searching for the same answer as the OP.
The solution I eventually discovered is quite simple and doesn't require any additional installation such as ASIO for All.

Initially: The problem:
seems to be that Windows 10 will set the Katana to the default audio out as soon as the Katana is powered up, and connected to USB. ASIO only allows one device at a time, so our default sound card output gets hijacked by Katana.

The solution: (for me - on Windows 10 Pro)
1) Power on Katana when connected to USB.
2) Search (in Win 10) "Sound Settings" > Click on it.
Then set the default output back to the desired sound card ~instead~ of Katana.
3) (Seemingly not necessary but I did it to be sure)
Reboot the PC and verify that the change is still correct, i.e. your default sound
card is correct, and not Katana, when Katana is powered on and connected to USB.
Also, verify that Tone Studio is connected to Katana = yes.

So, problem solved.
It's just that nature of Win 10 to do what it does.
Since this is a Win 10 issue it will work with Katana 1 or 2.

That's all for now.
