does anyone know HOW i can acquire a SGUS-3 unit selector??
I've sent multiple emails to the maker in the last 3 weeks, zero responses.

My emails were an inquiry about if they could ship to the USA.

The company looks to me like a boutique shop or a Mom and Pop shop.
It might one guy and he may be on vacation or busy with another job.
It may take awhile to hear from him.
Looks like some very good product ideas.
He has a Midi out foot controller pedal.
I have NEVER seen that before.

thanks for the responses...
i got my SGUS-3 unit last week (from the czech republic)...
           works great

i did get responses from them after a bit.. supposedly spam filters got some of my inquiries (?)
in any case, when we did make contact, they were responsive, it took 10-12 days from there
       to new mexico...

i had two US-20 units, but floor space is at a premium in my studio, so it was worth it to consolidate
a bit....      haven't tried the audio (mag/piezo) out, but it is Sweet for my setup as i was wanting
to integrate (and have as of today) an Axon unit > Blofeld, a GI-20 to XV2020, and a VG-99.
             very happy with everything..

                rusty
also, decided to integrate a rocktron midi exchange on the GI20/XV2020 line to increment/decrement
presets with smart control of volume levels per pedal when changing patches... nice...

thanks again for the input...   i'm a happy camper today...

Has anyone ordered one of these recently? I am not sure where/how to complete the $ transaction securely and was wondering how you went about it. i couldnt seem to find the links. ALSO, where does one find three or four foot (or shorter), 13 pin jumpers to connect the multiple synth devices to the sgus?

Any chance that you could post some pictures of the actual unit to see the actual size, build quality, etc.?

I HAD see a MIDI out foot controller pedal before..but I lost it - I couldn't figure out WHERE I had seen it.
I suppose this may have been the one...

Then there are a bunch of DIY methods such as
http://www.maxmidi.com/diy/foot/index.html
or
http://www.neufeld.newton.ks.us/electronics/?p=250
and there is always this item which you could mount inside a pedal
http://www.midisolutions.com/prodped.htm

And if you don't HAVE to use a MIDI output jack, but can use MIDI over USB, the Stealth Pedal works really well for this!  It even has a wah-wah type switch that can be engaged (which also sends midi)

But you likely knew about most of these others already....

Just ordered a SGUS-3. Quick response to emails so far. Will post when I receive it.

Got the SGUS-3 a while back but did not have a chance to post. Its working well and the maker is a pleasure to work with. Casing is hard plastic so may get a little knocked about if taken on the road but should be ok for studio and light-gig work.

Is the CHD SGUS-3 multiple (three input) 13 pin connector still available from CHD? As per this thread:

https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=2924.msg17250#msg17250

I have emailed them but no answer. The distributors in the UK haven't any it seems.

To answer my own post it seems (email received) that the SGUS-3 is no longer available. What a terrible pity? Why is midi guitar such a poor man's relation in the world of music? The more I think about this the more weird it seems (to me) to be.

Actually its a supply, demand issue  - one must remember only a very small number of guitarists are actually interested in Guitar to MIDI and, and an even smaller number uses Roland 13 pin gear.

Nobody other than Roland is getting rich making Roland 13 pin compatible switching / routing accessories.

I understand its been several years since RMC has had any RMC  Fan Out box's for sale too.

Most manufacturers must wait until significant orders arrive, then they will have a contract assembly house build up an inventory of product to sell.

Companies will go broke if they only build one at a time.

Re S-GUS 3, I doubt CHD has ever made more than quantity 100 of those over the past 14 years.

Once they sold out, they probably are gone.

Best to locate a Roland US-20 instead.

Ah Elantric! You are right of course to remind me of our rather miniscule status amongst the big bad world of guitar. I let my enthusiasm run away with me at times! And yet I can't help feeling sad about it for all the enforced reality of the world of the market.

I hope the Mods don't mind yet another repeat post on this topic but for those of you who might want to obtain one of these no longer manufactured units I have a reputable German source. They have three brand new units remaining available. I cannot tell you the cost to the States but I have just got one and it cost me Euro 189 delivered to the UK.

PM me contact details.

Could someone please post how much the SGUS-3 actually costs? Shipping costs to USA if known?

That would be really helpful.

Their web site does not list the price for the SGUS-3 as far as I can tell. Very odd. Its not even in the shipping cost drop down list.

Thanks.

The invoice I have in my inbox says I paid 185 Euros in total. Breakdown says 159 Euro was for the product and 26 Euro was for the shipping to Japan (where I was at the time). Makes about US$ 240.-

Links to the CHD ELEKTROSERVIS SGUS-3 remain active as a reference for those who already own this device.
http://www.chd-el.cz/index.php?id=140&lngid=en
But yes the developer has stated he no longer build or sells the SGUS-3,

The Roland US-20 A/B selector remains available, and Realize the CHD ELEKTROSERVIS SGUS-3, is basically an expanded version of the US-20.
Think of the SGUS-3 as a three output  A/B/C selector, and the Roland US-20 as a two output A/B Selector.
