The most common question on any of the FxFloorBoard editors is:
"I run the editor but it doesn't connect to my device"

In most cases the user is required to tell the editor what device it needs to look for,
in the editor, open the "Preferences" menu,
open the USB/Midi sub menu,
and from the options to select midi input and midi output, choose the device you are using.
If your device is not listed, then the computer operating system does not see it, which means that the USB driver is not likely installed,
or perhaps the Boss unit is not powered on or a faulty USB cable.
The reason for having a midi device selection menu, is that some units have 5 pin DIN midi ports, and the user may wish to choose these via a USB-Midi adapter device.
If using a USB-Midi adapter, choose a well known, reputable brand. There are cheap USB-Midi adapter which simply do not work, and cause connection problems.

Once your midi device has been selected, press O.K.
Some variants of the editor will then require you to manually press the "Connect" button on the main page,
or some variants of the editor will re-start and automatically connect. If you are wondering why it does that, it is to do with window resizing to fit your screen,
the program must restart to redraw the layout all in the correct ratios.

Hi Gumtown :)

I downloaded gt8 fx floorboard years ago.
On the site above it says:

GT-8FxFloorBoard current version:
windows 20190509 (09th May 2019)

Yet the actual file is dated 2014.... Did you just do updates to that older file, or is there another file with that 2019 date on it?

Thanks!

Did the download actually install?
On some systems your antivirus can prevent installation of downloaded installers,
one way to circumvent that issue is to copy the download to a USB memory stick and then run the installer from there.

The current file date on the GT-8FxFloorBoard editor is 20190509.

I have not run it yet...

Where exactly can I find the latest update?

Thanks :)

I have it!

I was trying to get it using my smartphone and then just email that to myself but the phone was the source of trouble

At least today it would have let me download an Android preview...

thank you

Not sure what you are doing there, no GT-8FxFloorBoard exists for Android, only Windows, Mac, and Linux computers,
only from this site here.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fxfloorboard/files/GT-8FxFloorBoard/

many other shareware sites host it too, but I can not guarantee it safe from those sites.
