Admsustainiac  you have opened a new World to me  :o :o
with the video that you've posted about the synth/oscillators capabilities of the Line6 HELIX LT, I'm schocked about, I'm dreaming maybe
can you build a custom set of 8 ( 3 notes) chords sequence by assigning each of them to one of the eight footswitches? really?? still by maintaining/playing my effected el.bass signal over those chords?

If yes, this will let me to sell my Eventide H9 and buy a new Helix LT, to couple with my SY 300, waiting for the next VG1000

Thank you so much for sharing this video

It would appear your goals are supported on Helix  / Helix LT

need to explore the Helix CustomTone patch exchange for Helix Synth patches
https://line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=helix&search_term=synth
realize the Helix Synth notes in video above are generated via foot switch trigger  - not playing the guitar

Reading the parameter guide in the "output select" section: the options for tube amps are certainly an improvement, but the other choices are too focused on specific models in Roland/Boss territory. They seem to discourage all the people who don't own a recent Boss amplifier - with the exception of the classic JC-120...

Anyone figured out the relative synth capabilities of the HX Effects vs Helix (LT of up)?

Setting the returns of the GT-1000 to "Direct Mix" seems like it should work as an aux in, allowing a bunch of alternatives to the Wave Synth.  Time to study some of the routing possibilities . . .

They appear to both offer identical Synth capabilities

This is causing a dilemma for me, which to choose GT-1000 or Helix LT ?
Having the synth OSC generator in the Helix is a valuable bonus.

So far, I haven't seen enough out of the 1000 to make it stand out for $1000.
At the moment, I'm still leaning toward dropping some extra cash for the Helix.
The ir's, scribble strips, and a couple of other little things are still holding my attention.
Granted, I'm still looking for a new one for about $250 off, which probably won't happen soon. While I wait, I'll keep watching for more GT 1000 reviews and vids. There should be more of that stuff as they start getting into people's hands.

What was an argument for me, is that the Helix is a platform that is actively being developed. With every firmware update it is getting better. Currently there is no polyphonic pitch shifting, but Line6 has already hired developers to help them forward in that area too. Older demos were not that convincing to me, but lately they are doing a lot of things right. And the fact that you can buy the Helix as a plugin, is an amazing feature.

And an argument for you, Gumtown, there are a lot of bass amp models in there.

Hi dear colleague gumtown,
after watching the video " Line6 Helix Lt can turn your guitar into 23 Oscillators" posted by admsustainiac I was almost completely convinced to buy the Line6 Helix LT, to add to my SY-300 and to replace my Eventide H9, even because Helix LT offers bass amps/speakers models (missing on the H9) and an unparalleled flexibility that only a workstation pedalboard can offer, at high levels.

Ok, sure, I don't know if you own already a  multi-fx pedalboard,
But IMHO I recommend you to wait my friend, I'm sure that the next Roland VG will offer to all of us (bass players included) better and never seen before features, included modern bass emulations only possible with a new VG and the GK.

These are just my 2 cents
All the best

We know the GT-1000 will offer no more and no less features as detailed in the GT-1000 Manual and Parameter Guide here

The video on synth and shimmer was cool. I am using currently a Whammy Digitech Plus on B channel of Morley and direct into PC on channel A. With this setup (saving some processing on Whammy side) get some pretty cool results using VST plugins for FX mixed with two guitar/pitch shifted -shimmers. I want to get me a Wah pedal for same A channel only now or if win lottery get a Helix or GT1000.
