Just thought I'd post this warning in case you don't read the fine print. The seller is selling a original box only for $49, although at first reading you may think he is selling a digital delay pedal, along with the original box.

Air pedal! To go with your air guitar...

I wonder if the seller will ship it in a box to protect it. :-)

...hmmm..
Makes me think it's time to review my mint box collection..

Perhaps it's time to start a new thread:

"Would you sell the box of something you're no longer using ? "

I wonder if the seller will ship it in a box to protect it. :-)

In fact, he addresses that thoughtful question!

"This auction is for a Boss DD-500 original box.  I sold the unit a while ago but couldn't find the box in my storage.  Well I just found it in my storage so here you go.  Increase the resale value of your own unit or satisfy your OCD by adding it to your collection.  This box will ship inside a larger box.  And for laughs I may place a smaller box inside.  Who knows?  Please see the photos for complete details.  Box is in VERY GOOD condition overall with just light wear from being in storage. "

Apparently, I can forget about Bitcoin, I have a FORTUNE in boxes in my basement (yeah, I keep all the boxes in case I sell gear later).

How much does an original box increase the value?

When I ordered a used gr 300 from Guitar Center the ad said the original box was included but it wasn't in the shipment.

When I talked to a Salesman and then the store manager they said the box was in poor shape and they probably threw it away.

I told them that they did not uphold their end of the sales contract and they paid a $25 get this guy off the phone fee. :)

depends on the product

i recall a time when old DAW software boxes were valuable, because the "cross-platform discount upgrade" price was only good if you sent in the original box from your old DAW software.

I have several boxes of old 1970-80-90's Guitar player mags, and many folks sell the old Guitar FX advertisements as single page ebay sale for $20-$35 each page!

Hey Elantric,

The Tiger guitar and amp set you showed are very exciting. Those were prototypes for the Gibson Dusk Tiger, right?  ;)

Collectible, for sure!

Maybe we should privately compare our Box Lists, so we don't inadvertently flood the market with a particular model.....

That's a great idea. We could also maybe figure out how to withhold certain rare boxes to command a higher price similar to the way to Diamond industry operates.

We need to create an artificial demand. :D

Now I'm wishing just for fun I told that Guitar Center manager I wanted $100 for that box I didn't get. :)

I have a mint GR-55 box, but for some reason when I tug on the lid, there is a slight delay before it opens.
electric: Epiphone Dot semihollow body, acoustic: mahogany jumbo, recording: Cubase Artist 11 or Tascam DP008

My SY-300 box is really interesting looking, but it is dirty and gritty...

Its spreading to Reverb.com

https://reverb.com/item/9449144-bare-knuckle-juggernaut-misha-mansoor-8-string-pickup-set-box-only

So the box buyer can resell counterfit 8 string bareknuckle pickups at high profit.

I would never do business with that reverb seller Memphis Music Exchange ,  no matter how big they are. Its ethically wrong

price reduced to 39.99. I don't think this box is going to be going for a much lower price.

So if you've been watching this box, now might be a good time to buy. ;D

I did just sell my GR100 with the original box on reverb.com. I believe that was a selling point to a vintage collector as an indication that the pedal was taken care of, which it was.

Many years ago I traded (with my brother) a custom cherry wood kitchen cabinet job for a box of childhood baseball cards. I was able to sell the cards for around $3,000, and they weren't even in mint condition. The baseball card dealer that I sold them to at a card  seller show was very excited when he saw those cards. Kind of like we all get when we purchase a new piece of gear.

I guess people collect cardboard.
