Hello
is there a way to create a backup of user sounds patches? I had create some nice sounds but I'm aware of loosing them when something wrong happens, but writing them down in a notebook is a quite a job, too much data.

Hi, unfortunately there is no direct access to  internal BR-80 memory, so you have to switch BR80 to MTR mode at first and then copy your favorite patches into the song.
After that you can
a) connect BR80 to the computer (in Storage mode)
or
b) use an SD card directly
and you will find a SONGFX01.BR0 file  located in BR0 folder.

If you want to backup individual patches separately (still need a BR0 file) or just want to know which patches are inside, you can use my Micro BR-80 Patch Arranger utility.

How to copy patches into song? Can I use patch arrander to set up sounds, edit sound patches or it is just patch properties viewer? Can I copy multiple patches to one song?

How to copy patches into song?
Read the manual and focus to Page 67, chapter "Effect patches and categories" ;)
There are three categories available in MTR mode: Preset patches, User Patches and Song Patches.
So just copy your favorite patches from user category to song category, that's all.

Yes, but one by one.

Yes, you can set up "sound" (patch) and save it into BR0 file (song), check link to songcrafters forum above.

So, you mean press Cosm, choose a user patch, press enter, select write/name, and jog through 100 user places  until S000 reached and select a Sxxx slot to store a patch? And I understand I have to do that with each user preset? Of course each one from Uxxx to separate Sxxx slot?
How about this song file where user patches were copied to? This is global file containing patches or if I start creating New song these patches will be not showing?

There is not something like global file there . Each song on SD card has its own folder and SONGFX01.BR0 file inside. All song patches are stored within this file. This is the only way how to backup your patches.

Thismway I have to store all song files to preserve all presets, or store all presets in one song file. Anyway, is this song file something different than my recorded somgs? Some kind of a template or what? Still not getting the idea. What is the difference between THIS song file which contain patches and actual song I've been recorded?

Each song on SD card has its own folder and SONGFX01.BR0 file inside. BR-80 Guitar COSM patches are stored within the SONGFX01.BR0  file. This is the only way how to backup your patches.

Remember you must use the Roland Song Lister utility to convert BR-80 Song files into Wave files

Thanks for the effort and patience. So, you mean if I store my patches in one song, they won't be available in other songs? Or maybe if I reset everything then restore this one br0 file and copy patches to user library they will be available for everything?

What are BRP files inside a arranger zip file? If i import your song file with your patches into my device they will replace my patches or what?
Let's say i made a song file with my patches included,  then i make a new song file, that new song file will not contain patches of previous song? So basically that first song file is made just to store my patches and backup to my PC? That way i can make factory reset, copy song file on SD Card, and then what to do to get patches back? How to load the song?

It is described here in first post: http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=14331.0
BRP file contains data of one patch.

No, because all patches distributed with song "belongs" just to this song. You can copy them one by one to User patch area, of course.
Download this Legend of rock pack with prepared patches and try it. https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=4782.0 (read carefully second post of that topic)

Yes, your new song know nothing about data of other songs.

You can use any song as backup repository for your user patches.

Just copy back folder with song to BR80 SD card (to the original place).

Ok, I think I'm getting it finally. Just last thing. I mostly use eBand mode, and from Cosm there are only User patches available. If my patches were stored in songs, I have to copy them from song patches to user patches to have them available for overall usage in all modes just like regular user made patches? Otherwise, they won't be seen in eBand mode until I Select a song from song list in MTR mode? Do I have to copy them to User Patches library, if proper song is loaded in MTR mode, to use them in eBand mode? Then, if I load other song, other patches will be available?

The answer is 4x yes

This way I know all, I guess. THANKS A LOT!

Everything works fine as you told me. Is there a way to record dry guitar then play it and mess around with patches on the go? It would be easier not playing guitar a few hours to set up patch but record dry and play track while setting up sound
