Here is a quick demo of the GP-10 and the VG-99 together.
I have a US-20 that sends the GK pickup to both units.
The outputs of the VG-99 goes into the aux in of the GP-10 so it all comes out just the GP-10's two outputs.
Sweet!
This is the VG doing acoustics and the GP a string pad.
The two units are a great combo together.
I will do more when I get my 2nd GP.
That will be GP on GP action.

Great way of hooking up the units - I hadn't thought of using the Aux In's from the 99 to the 10!  Saves needing a mixer...

Thanks!

Lovely as usual!  Really nicely done.   So if you are running the VG-99 into the aux ins on the GP-10 could you theoretically run (gulp) THREE GR-300 emulations at once?

YEP, the aux in seems real robust and no crap out as well.
I thought sure it would fart out with the low end of the VG-99, but it hasn't..

As usual excellent Bill.
Is it yours baritone patch for VG? I loved it and used on GR55 with CTR for Pat Metheny tuning (baritone/Nashville) from latest solo albums.

Very nice!.... What guitar are you using Bill?. Great acoustic patch!.. that must be a piezo pickup.
I've never been able to get as good an acoustic emulation on my VG-99 with the GK pickup vs my Godin Multiac steel with the piezo.

I'm sure Bill will eventually inform - but typically Bill uses an Ibanez Jem with a GK-3

QuoteRe GK Pick Ups:  I use nothing but the GK pickups(Roland GK-3, GK-2A) .I am a HUGE fan of the magnetic pickup design.

Re:  What type guitar do you use?

At the moment I am using Ibanez guitars.
I have a few Floral Jems made in 1988 that get used all the time.
They just feel and sound good to me.
Hard to believe they are 20 years old already.
I like Dunlop 6100 and 6000 fret wire.
I like to be off the fret board with my finger tips.
Analog pickups are Duncan Holdsworth, 1 meg pots.
I have a love hate relationship with the Floyd-Rose bridge but I have
to use a vibrato bridge.
Other guitars I love have the Fender American standard bridge.
In combo with some locking Sperzel tuners it is a wonderful vibrato
system
I route the tremolo block to fit a Floyd-Rose arm.

I change strings on my recording guitars everyday.
I HATE that part but I get payed for sound and I feel its the least I
can do to.
I also tune in between very take.
I tend to find that I like strings better
when they are broken in a bit.

Thanks for the clarify Elantric. That's amazing.. getting that great acoustic guitar emulation from the GK3.

Frankster

Excellent use of the two processors there, nicely played and a superb acoustic and pad sound. Very impressed here.

Nicely played too, that's the sound of someone who knows how to use VGuitar voices to good effect.

Bill Ruppert

Thanks guys.
I listened again and I think it could be WAY better I will try again.

I think Bill's composition "Distance" was the best example I can think of with "faux acoustic".  Something about the touch really reminded one of an acoustic.

Question:  has the link to the video for "GP-10 with VG-99 demo " been removed?      I haven't been able to open it...

yes - Bill typically provides very limited time access to his non EHX efforts

Its been removed and probably never to be heard again.

I keep encouraging him to put out a solo record of that kind of material.  Some of it went way beyond "demo material" and into the realm of just plain wonderful uplifting music.  I learned a lot from the demos too - the VG responds so well to a light touch that touch sensitivity really influenced my own patch and music creation efforts.  His fingerings are really cool too.

Update in 2017:  SERIOUSLY.  Light touch is the key with a lot of these products.  Can't be overstated.
