the original version Gumtown posted was simply a non working work in progress, with no functionality

After we reviewed the GT-1 DSP code, we determined there were no lurking "sneaky amps" inside the GT-1 DSP

All GT-1 DSP settings  / configs / FX settings can already be edited using the official Boss Tone Studio for GT-1 - therefore there is no need for an independent version from Gumtown

Well, I understand you point. But the reason I think it could still be useful (and why I want it) is to simply check gt-1 .tsl patches parameters and adapt them to other gt/me products. I personally do not own a gt-1, but a gt-001, and I`m interested on a few gt-1 patches, but cant check them on tone studio without the proper hardware.

So I think its better not only for me but others who want to do the same, to use the "useless" version to do it than ask others for favors.

:)

I should delete this thread  - since folks can not read

Perhaps you should ask folks a simple "why" before assume they "can not read"? ;)

You can  already load *.tsl files into  any JSON editor - Notepad++ works well
https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

More Details on *.tsl format ( use search )
BOSS TONE STUDIO  *.tsl file format
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=10862.msg78890#msg78890
and read the Katana Github docs which go into further details on the Boss Tone Studio *.tsl file format

QuoteI personally do not own a gt-1, but a gt-001, and I`m interested on a few gt-1 patches, but cant check them on tone studio without the proper hardware.

All Boss Tone Studio Editors now  run in an "OFFLINE MODE"  - ( no hardware required) , and allows anyone to review all GT-1 , GT-001, GT-100, GP-10 parameters for each patch *.tsl file  - your goal is already available free

As Gumtown already said - there will not be a release of a working "Gumtown GT-1 Floorboard FX Editor" ( the prior version never was functional)  - because the existing Boss Tone Studio  Editor for GT-1 provides full functionality for editing all GT-1 FX parameters, and runs in Offline mode for anyone to  review all GT-1 patch settings - no GT-1 hardware required:
http://bosstonecentral.com/liveset/category/gt-1/

and ultimately  Gumtown has the final word, he places value on his labor and time, re-read his final words on this matter of releasing a working GT-1 FX Editor:

I have a GT-1 incoming, so we shall see where this goes....

I now have recently acquired a GT-1
so expect to see GT-1FxFloorBoard editor coming soon !!
As well as the usual FxFloorBoard editing functions,
it will also load in previous GT model patch files (100, 001, 10, 10B, 8, 6B), Katana patch files, and ME-80 patch files.

A sneak preview of GT-1FxFloorBoard on it's way soon:

Very nice! Can't wait to try it out. It looks awesome and since the GT-1 is the only Boss pedal I have I could never try your editor before, so it will be a lot of fun to try it and see how it can help me with my GT-1. If you ever need beta testing I'd be glad to help.

Well...
It was inevitably going to happen, so here it is..

Thanks! I will give it a try this week-end, which is a long weekend here in Canada. Plenty of time!  ;D

....and big fonts too !!!!!   ;D

Is that in a good or a bad way?,
my Mac High Sierra seems to suddenly switch to 2 x screen size over a certain window size.
The editor font sizing is variable like the editor windows sizing.
When set to "Auto Scale" the App window size is determined/limited by the screen width and height (if the screen is radically wide),
and an upscale ratio factor determined.
The Font sizing then takes that upscale ratio and is divided by the screen DPI resolution.

For fixed size upscaling (Auto Scale off, and a scale ratio number entered), the math is slightly different, resulting in slightly smaller fonts for higher DPI screens.
Sort of trying to cater for varied and different monitors.

Hi Gumtown, I had a little time trying out the FxFloorboard this weekend. Unfortunately, although I can install and launch it, it does not connect the my GT-1. Here are some details:

  • GT-1 drivers are installed and the Boss Tone Studio works without a hitch under Windows 10
  • When the FxFloorboard starts it shows a brief message: Patch data transfer failed, are the correct midi ports selected? Pleas make sure the GT-1 is connecte correctly and re-try.
  • A few seconds later a second message: The Boss GT-1 Amp was not found or an error occurred during data transfer. default system data will be as shown on screen and the GT-1 system data might not be in sync
  • The status bar shows ready with an orange pause icon to its left, but the message 'MidiInWinMM::openPort: error creating Windows MM MIDI input port.' is shown
  • At the top of the main window, the connect button is lit green.
  • In the preferences, the GT-1 is selected for both midi in and out.
  • Tx channel is set to 1

I think that's all the info I can provide.

The last item to complete in the "Preferences > Midi/USB" menu is to press O.K. to finish the preferences setup/save.
The editor software will pop up a dialog to say it is saving the Preferences to disk, and then the editor will re-start with the settings applied,
and the green "CONNECT" button should be 'lit' if the GT-1 is found.

I did press ok many times and the settings where already set to GT-1 from the get go after the install. As I stated, the connect is lit green already. But  it does not communicate with the GT-1.

What does the debug mode do? Any logs I can send you?

gumtown

debug mode just 'forces' a connection, and prints midi data information on the bottom status bar.

Have you updated Windows 10 with the "Creators Update"?
This update seems to have killed the GT-1 USB driver for many users.

Do you have any problem using the Boss Tone Studio for GT-1?

Blacque Jacque Schellacque

Boss Tone Studio works just fine.
I install every update for Windows, so I would say I probably have the Creators update.

Don't worry too much about this. I can do what I need with the Boss Tone Studio. I would have liked to try your app but don't want to give you extra work.

If, on the other hand, others have the same problem and you want help debugging this I will gladly give you all the help possible. I have been a software developer for more than 35 years (boy, I feel old saying that!), so I can handle technical queries.

gumtown

I just tried the Windows version, haven't used it for 2 weeks, and it's broken on my Windows 10 too.  ???
It was working before, but now the program won't open the midi input.
Now working on finding what is going on....  stay tuned for an update ...

Now sorted, my bad.
Had left in some odd bits of code, which only became apparent when the GT-1 is the only midi device present.
I had to off load Midi-Yoke from my Windows 10 machine to find that.

Fixed up the Windows and Mac versions, so should be all good.

Hi is there anyway to do a bulk dump of all presets (like tone studio backup )or do you have to save each preset one at a time
