Hope somebody can give me some advice here. I've done a little searching but time is of the essence now.

I'd been thinking about biting the bullet on an ATG custom installation kit as I just purchased an ATG-1 at super low price and it's amazing but I'd really like the functionality built into a guitar. I'm not in the US and Antares may have stopped shipping OS after my recent order (unclear). They cease sales in about a week and support not long after.

So, I hunted around a bit and these are my options as far as I can see.

1. Order from Antares to a friend's address in the US and get him to forward it over to me. Purchase software packs and hope they'll work at the time I receive the unit from the US.

2. EDIT: NOT an option...as soon as I posted the seller replied that it's already gone :( ---- Order a DEMO AT-200 in Australia (where I live) at about the same cost as the C.I.K. from US with the hope of gutting it and putting it in another guitar I actually like. Purchase software packs online and hope they'll work at the time I receive the unit. I read that the Peavey guitars are fairly ordinary quality but the only seller I can find is on the other side of the country so I'll have to buy it without testing it.

3. Live with the amazing yet heavy and big ATG-1 and forget about internal efficiency...happier wallet :)

What would you do?

Right, reading more indicates the Peavey AT-200 uses a different DSP board and the luthier kits seem like a better bet. The luthier kits also seem to include the complete software packs. Antares marketing material is somewhat ambiguous on certain points - hence my frequent use of 'seem/s'.

If you contact Henrik directly, he will quote you for the international shipping and send to you. They stopped offering free international shipping but they still can accommodate (for the right fee) the international shipping.

FWIW - The piezo version (unity gain) of the DSP4 (yet to confirm the DSP3) can be fed by a GK 13 pin output. So you could build a super reduced version of the ATG-1 that can be fully controlled via a MIDI foot controller.

What is a "DSP4" ?

What is a "DSP3" ?

DSP4 is the hardware revision of the Luthier kit and DSP3 is the one of the AT-200.

The DSP3 only supports piezos. The DSP4 supports Hex and piezos if you custom order it (taking they still have in stock).

I have a Peavey AT200 - I do  Not recommend it.

It has far too many drawbacks detailed here

I agree with Elantric.  Stick with the ATG-1.

Turns out they (Antares)will ship OS. But I don't know of any luthiers in Sydney who can do the job - yet.

What guitar do you plan to install it? Perhaps you would be interested in my approach and install the board in the spring cavity and block the Vibrato (for a vibrato based guitar). I am doing this not because of lack of luthiers or something but because I am installing it on a high end guitar I do not want to modify permanently.
