I have a pair of gray label D120Fs, circa 1969 or so.  Both need reconing (and, perhaps, a magnet recharge depending on who you ask).  What is a reasonable price for them as-is?  Repair costs would probably exceed $250 per speaker, but I've seen working units sell on eBay for around that price.  Does that imply they're worthless?

needing to be reconed means find a collector

I'm in a similar boat - I have a pair of genuine 1969 JBL D130F grey  from a Fender Dual Showman cab   - but they require reconing

I've installed several kits from these guys. Instructions are clear and simple. They come pre-assembled and all you do is remove the old cone and clean up the frame, drop the replacement cone in, center it (with provided shims) apply the new adhesive and re-solder the leads. I was able to recone a pair of jbl 18's for my pa subs in a weekend no problem. Well worth the cost and the quality of the kits was very high.

My prior attempts at reconing (many years back) were complete disasters.  Not something I intend to pursue, but thanks for the input!
